| | Beverly,

Me again. I might have found you 2 litermates, but 1 would be male
and the other famale. The female as I told you earlier is orange
(a morris kitty) and the male is black, gray & white. Both are
beautiful. They are 10 weeks old. A girl I work with just got
her male (exactly like this male) from this same liter and he is
so cute. I think that the kittens are in Hudson. I'll find out
    if you're interested.

First things first -- the home phone I posted in .0 is wrong (sigh). I
was in migraine-induced spaciness this morning, and duplicated part of my
office number. The correct number is 603-654-5228. Really. I promise!

    Re .1:

The preferance for littermates is pretty mild. That they be female and
    shorthaired are absolute requirements.

Thanks for all the replies so far!

I posted this in the topic about the kitty we adopted, but I
thought I'd post it here as well. I picked up the fluffball
last night, and though she was not pleased with the car ride,
everything was fine once we got home. She seems quite happy
so far (our bedroom is a mess -- she thinks she's in a kitty
amusement park!). Last night she said her name was Chrysalis,
but I'm not sure she really understood the question. We'll
	see.
I also mentioned in that other note that we haven't decided
yet whether we really want a second kitty just yet; my mind
changes about once every 5 minutes. We've had several very
solid responses to this note, so I think we're set if we do
decide to get another. I want to thank all of you who sent
me mail; good luck finding loving homes for your furfaces!

That's a nice theory, but I did live for a few months with a friend
who had 2 male cats (perma-kittied, as she put it!), who could be
pretty destructive, especially when they got in the mood for Junior
Kitty Olympics (she's a Creative Writer; can you tell?). *Nothing*
was safe when they started tearing around, and they tended to play
off each other and get more and more revved up.
	As I said in .3, though, we're still undecided. I'll let y'all
know as soon as I do!

I think I'll change the topic title...
Chrysalis (that's definitely her name; she comes running when we
call her by it) is one happy, bouncy kitty. I was worried when I
got home last night, because she didn't seem to have eaten much,
if anything, and she seemed unhappy. She's only 6 weeks, and I
suspect that she wasn't entirely weaned before I got her. I had
noticed that she seemed to want to get under my head whenever I
was lying down, and she kept nibbling on my fingers. So, we took
an eyedropper filled with milk, and put it near her mouth. She
very happily drank several droppersfull, then noticed the saucer
we were filling it from and started to drink. She went into
frantic play mode for a while, then suddenly pounced on her food
dish and ate a bit. More play, more food. Purrs, happiness!
	She awoke in the middle of the night and tried to nurse again;
this time it only took 1 dropperfull to get her to eat on her
own. This morning she was playing and eating, into absolutely
everything. Yayy! She particularly liked the wrapping paper
and boxes from Kevin's birthday presents (his b-day is today).
I think I understand why some of you refer to yourselves as the
kitties' Mom's -- she certainly thinks that's who I am!

| | Beverly,

Since cats tend to be nocturnal creatures, thus sleeping all day
long, it's not unusual for the cats not to eat much during the day.
Kind of like us people not eating much during the night.

When you get home from work, Chrysalis is ready for breakfast.
Lunch is at midnight, and dinner is at 5:00 AM !!!

5:00 this morning was definitely feeding time! She was hungry
yesterday, though -- she had hardly eaten anything in almost 24
hours. I think she's fine now.

| 2452.9 | Chrysalis has been joined by Copernicus! | ATSE::BLOCK | More TLA's? NFW! | Thu Jun 01 1989 22:58 | 13 |

Well, Chrysalis now has a sister, whom she has named Copernicus (the
new kitty told us she was named Cleopatra, but it doesn't seem to stick).
So far they're mostly hissing and play-fighting, except when they
ignore each others' existence. Copernicus is black & white, very
similar to the cat we had when I was a kid (even to the black "mask").
She's from the litter that Ellen Germann posted a note about the last
kitten of recently. She 's significantly smaller than Chrysalis (who's
only 8 days older), but she seems quite capable of holding her own.

| | Beverly,

I was hoping to see an introduction of this kitten here. She sure
    is cute.

I kept her at my house for about an hour and a half before Beverly
arrived to pick her up. In that time, she managed to hold back
my 2 cats and my dog. She just took one look at them, one look
at me, and then announced (hisssssss) that she was the ruler!!
And everyone else backed off!!! What a brave crew I have.

I wish you the best with Copernicus, - the name is MUCH bigger than
the kitty!! I had many thoughts last night about what was happening
    at your house.

Copernicus' brother is still available - and currently living in
    the garage (grrrrrr).

    Welcome, Copernicus!

Yup, Copernicus is a big name for that little kitten; I mostly call her
Coper, because she has to cope with Chrysalis! They're getting along
great; last night, Coper came over to where Chrys was sleeping, licked her
face for a while, then settled down to sleep on top of her. Today, they
crawled into one of the kitchen cabinets which has an opening under the
overhang (it's a corner unit, and there's a space between it and the one
on the adjacent wall). I opened the cabinet and found them asleep in a
heap, wrapped around the blender! They even stayed there long enough for
    me to get a picture!
Of course, they do a lot of play fighting; in spite of the size
difference, I think they're pretty evenly matched. It's really funny to
see Copernicus on her back with Chrysalis standing over her facing the
other way, locked in a clinch with their paws around each others' necks!
I'M SO HAPPY WE HAVE KITTIES!!!

NOw, if I can only place the male - anyone help??

I have copied your message in my printer and am going to give it
