I've found a company in Indiana that sells a pet-safe rodent killer.
(Unless your pets are mice or rats, that is)
It's a form of vitamin D. It seems that rats and mice have system
that cannot regulate calcium levels in the bloodstream very well. The
presence of vitamin D is interpreted by the rodent's system as a need
for more calcium....a physiological quirk that proves FATAL!!
Ther is NO toxic biuldup in the rodent's system, so no danger to a
cat or dog if they happened to find one.... I've always been afraid to
put out things like "D-con" or other rodent poisons for fear one of my
babies or someone else's would eat a poisined carcass....
the company is:

Sounds good, but how long before it takes effect in the rodent and
kills it??

Re .1
According to the writeup, it takes 2 to 4 days. A lethal dose for
a mouse is 2.8 grams.....for a rat it's about 14 grams.
It sells as follows:
#8783...Box of Pellets, 8 pkts,
30 grams per packet.............$7.60 (for rats)
#8784...Box of Granules, 24 pkts,
10 grams per packet.............$19.95 (for mice)
I don't know why there's such a wide difference in the price, and I
intend to find out.... the quantity's the same in both cases...
I also understand that there is no pain involved in the death of the
rodents....the systems simply shut-down slowly and the rodent simply
goes to sleep...
