Now that I have a leukemia positive feline household, I'm
concerned about bringing home anymore kitty friends. I'd sure like
to, but am leary about bringing an unexposed or unvaccinated
kitty to the house.
Anyone have any suggestions? I remember reading somewhere about
a place that had kitties with leukemia that needed homes. Maybe
I could get involved in something like that, if I knew where the
cats in need of homes were. I couldn't find the note, though.
I have four cats now that have all been exposed to leukemia or
that actively have the disease, so that's why I can't bring in
an unexposed one.
Any thoughts on how to add new members to the family would be
appreciated, even if they were only going to be with us a while.
thanks, Denise

And to repeat something I have mentioned here before...
Pansy, our last (prior to the current brood) and most eccentric
cat, lost a brother and sister in our house when she was about two.
We lost her early this year at 16! They may not have exceptionally
short lives, but they might. In any event, keeping positives together,
and away from negatives, is a sound idea. I am glad you are thinking
about 'saving' some others. I have a feeling that the long term
rewards would be worth it.
