I need help...........................
*****ANY SUGGESTIONS WELCOME*****
This spring (1) mother and (4) babies appeared outside
our door. (CATS) Since that time I have been feeding them daily.
I can not have cats where I live, and am at a loss.
The mom appears very irregularly to eat, but the kids are there
every morning and everynight. They were born in the wild and are
without a doubt feral. But .............
.......They are unbelieveable... One black with white markings.
Three gray. They allow me to now pat each one and sometime ever
accept being picked up.
I do not want to put them to sleep, and I do not want them to
spend the winter outside. If anyone can help me I would greatly
appreciate it. I really believe they would be great pets, Though
very skiddish now. I think if someone had time to spend with them
they would have some beutiful cats.
I am pleading for their sake... They need help *******************

Curt,
If you don't have luck in placing them (God knows there are too
many out there desperately needing homes and being abandoned because
spaying/neutering wasn't done), try one of the "no-kill" shelters
(these are listed in this file). If you don't mind driving, there's
the Monadnock Region Humane Society in W. Swanzey, NH (Keene) that's
excellent too.
From what you said the mom cat isn't as friendly and easy to get
near. But if you could somehow get her too then that may help prevent
another accidental litter from happening. Other feline noters who've
had more experience with taming/catching feral cats/kittens can
be of more help I'm sure.
Another suggestion, maybe if you were able to take photos of the
kittens and post them in local vet offices, feed & grain stores,
etc. stating they are homeless and looking for homes before the cold
NE winter hits, this may help place them.
Good luck!
Pat
