| | Punjab is about 4 months old now, and is she a terror! I had forgotten
the little tricks that kittens do.

For starters, we have a golden retriever who absolutely LOVES her.
They play together for hours at a time, although the dog does get
a little excited sometimes and attempts to pounce on the kitten.
Generally, they love to play together when there's a full basket
of clean clothes on the floor. Punjab will get in the basket and
take swipes at Barley's head when the dog isn't looking. Once Barley
turns around, the kitten ducks behind the clothes basket (like,
    "who ? me ?").

When she's not playing with the dog, there's always W.W. to play
with - IF he feels like it.

The only problem I've run into with Punjab is with food. I caught
her on the counter a couple of times devouring a large piece of
sausage and the better part of a roast chicken. Then I caught her
on top of the trash can, eating chicken that she had dug out from
under newspaper & wrapped in tin foil. Since then, she's made a
couple other attempts to get in there, so I guess we'll have to
    keep it covered.

Other than that, what a sweet, energentic kitty !!

| | Well, more on Bob...

Until this weekend, Bob and Nicky (male tibetan terror -- er --
terrier) have had a stand-off. Bob has stayed upstairs and Nicky
has stayed at the top stair with a baby gate keeping him from going
further. In a way it was bothering me because I want all the creatures
to have free roam of the house, but Nicky was showing signs of wanting
    Bob for supper, so....

Well, this weekend, Bob decided that he knew who was "REALLY" boss
in the house and ventured to the first floor. Nicky was in heaven.
In turned out that Nicky really didn't want to eat Bob, just to
play. Now I have the situation of 3 pound kitten tearing through
the house persued by 30 pound dog, and often, the 20 pound female
dog as well. Bitser, the older cat, just sits and looks on in disgust.
"Don't these creatures have ANY dignity??" It sure is crazy right
    now.....I LOVE it.

Bob has learned that popcorn is wonderful, especially Smart Food
which all teenagers think is the staple of life. He tried blueberries
last night and wasn't all that impressed - but he sure enjoyed the
whipped cream that was on them.

Last night I let the 2 dogs and older cat out at the same time.
At the end of the line was Bob. I quickly picked him up and set
him straight. He let me know in no uncertain terms that life was
not fair - the big kids got to go out....

Kittenhood sure is full of adventures!!!!!

| | Well, Bob is another month old and finding more and more fun things
    to do.

Yesterday he had us laughing soooooo hard. Bob loves to be held
like a baby, upside down cradled in your arms. When he is like
that, he MUST have his tail - it is like a pacifier. Well, yesterday
he was lying on my son's bed in the morning while Stephen got dressed.
Bob was holding his tail like he usually does - but - when he got
up to follow us downstairs, he wanted to carry his tail in his mouth.
Now picture a kitten trying to walk with the tip of his tail firmly
    held in his mouth............

He also is in LOVE with our female dog. When Tibby is lying and
chewing on her Nyla-bone, Bob will get on top of her and chew on
her head. They are marked almost identically which adds to the
    picture.

The most fun, though, is the screened porch at night. Lots of bugs
are attracted to the screen. Bob will attack from across the room
with a flying leap and be at the top of the screen in no time.
    Hope my screens hold up........
