| | I have had trouble with Corkie and her dermititis(sp) for years
from her flea bite allergy. She got so bad last year that I thought
she would die and no amount of medicine or flea spray (it only took
one flea and she would lose all her fur and her skin would look
like it had been chewed to pieces) would help. I bought a Microtech II
flea collar. It took about three days, but there was such a vast
improvement I couldn't believe it! She can even go out on the patio
now. Fleas just don't seem to want to be anywhere near her. The
dog will bring in a few on him, but as long as I keep Corkie's collar
on her, they don't get on her. I don't know if it kills them or
just the sound of the collar keeps them away, but this is one testimony
in favor of the electronic collars. I got mine at the vet's for
around $40.00. There are cheaper ones, but I'm one that believes
in you get what you pay for. Let us know how it goes for you if
    you decide to get one.

| | My dog Gunther also wears a MicroTech, or something quite similar.
It DOES do the job, but the constant electronic ticking sound can
drive the animal nuts (Guntie's ears go down when he has it on and
happens to be lying down). [Pepper, our cat, still wears the
traditional Hartz collar, unless and until she needs something
stronger.] But if sprays and collars bother them, a good electronic
collar is certainly worth a shot.
