| 1171.1 | I will return as a Maine Coone | RATTLE::LANDRY | hitchhiked across the USA | Wed Mar 09 1988 12:23 | 21 |
|  |     I have two:-

    Zildjian is Cleopatra, Queen of the household (not to mention my
    husband and I)..."don't touch me" is her attitude - I just cleaned
    my snow-white fur and if you get it dirty I will claw you with my
    newly painted nails.

    Spunky is an adult that will never grow up. Her thing is to get
    into as much trouble as she can and then try to get herself out
    of it so the humans don't find out. Of course, she is Zildjian's
    servant - not always obedient but none-the-less there (to Zildjian's
    disappointment).

    Now, when I return, I want to be a Maine Coone Cat - fishing and
    hunting in the outdoors and bigger than all the other felines around
    so they can't push me around. I would have and orange/tan color
    fur and a nice long bushy tail, green eyes and personality that
    humans would think it is "out of this world." Wishful thinking....
    talk about escaping reality. Oh well..............................

| | Corkie is Greta Garbo because she always "wants to be alone."

|  |     Let's see now...

    Dr. Who - W.C.Fields. Born to drink. "Hey, who put this pineapple
    juice in my pineapple juice?"
    Callista - Ramona (the second one). Dr. Who's timelord companion
    (during the Tom Baker days). Willing to go along, but definitely
    more than just another pretty face.

    Basrah - As far as I can tell, Basrah has been Basrah for the last
    few million years. She's ruler of all she sees, so why change?

    Rocky - a semi-successful prizefighter.  Won a few, lost a few,
    had a couple too many blows to the head. A little punchy, you could
    say.
    And my ex-wife claimed I was at least half cat, so I must have been
    a Maine Coon (Abyssinian doesn't fit my type).

| 1171.4 | they used to be . . . | GEMVAX::GRANT |  | Thu Mar 10 1988 17:26 | 30 |
|  |       PAWS:

      A female Huckleberry Finn. I can picture her on a raft floating down
      a river -- fishing, of course. She is also great at getting all the
      other kitties involved in trouble of her making.

      SPRINGER:

      Pollyanna. She always seems to be looking on the bright side, and
      seeing the best in every situation (except maybe for going to the
      vet).

      MIDWAY:

      The Little Match Girl. She always looks so pitiful. If I didn't
      know better, I'd think that she was hungry, cold, and mistreated
      (she happens to be none of these, of course, and is actually quite
      spoiled by all of us).

      ADRIENNE:

      Melanie in "Gone With the Wind". She is shy, demure, and sweet,
      but will stand up for herself and her loved ones when the situation
      warrants it.

      SLY:

      The king of all he surveys. And he really is.

| 1171.5 |  | CIVIC::JOHNSTON | I _earned_ that touch of grey! | Fri Mar 11 1988 08:28 | 10 |
| | Maggie - Emily LeBreton [a.k.a. Lily] Langtry. Sometimes regal,
    often flirtatious, a superb actress, and secure in in the knowledge
    of her own exquisite beauty.

    Milo - Thomas Jefferson [I think]. Deep thoughts, high principles,
    and a touch of divine madness. Doesn't have time for those who won't
    keep pace with him. Very much his own man, but affectionate when
    he takes the mood.

| 1171.6 | Garbo and Holmes | POET::BURLEW | Purr is my favorite sound! | Wed Mar 16 1988 17:36 | 7 |
| | Serena also is Greta Garbo. She always wants to be alone.

    Sherlock is, of course, Sherlock Holmes (I know, I know, but are you
    sure he wasn't a real person?). He's always investigating things,
    especially Sky's toys.

    Ande (Serena, Sherlock, and Sky)

| 1171.7 | Silver the Stockbroker | FIDDLE::HTAYLOR | Cat lovers are a special breed | Thu Mar 17 1988 08:31 | 11 |
| | I think that Silver was a stock broker. Every night, my mother
    watches some show that tells her what the stock prices were for
    the day. They run the stock prices across the bottom of the screen
    and they talk about the news on wallstreet. Well, as soon as my
    mom turns that show on, Silver plops herself in front of the TV
    and just WATCHES. She won't move until the show is turned off or
    it is over. She even sits though the commercials.
