| 1158.2 | Ask for Dr. Migday | PLANET::DALEY |  | Wed Mar 02 1988 11:28 | 18 |
| | I used to use Slade's in Framingham. Dr. Anita Migday is the owner
and she is a super vet. The others are okay. I wanted to use only
Dr. Migday, but so did everyone else it seems and she got to be
next to impossible to get. She has a radio program, used to have
a show on Channel 2 which ran for about a year, does some teaching,
and some communitiy work, and was in the clinic less and less.
    Maybe that has changed now.

(I switched vets only because I wanted her to treat my animals
and she got to be seldom available.)

Anyway, in answer to your question, yes they are reputable and
your dog will do fine there. If you can, I would request that
Dr. Migday do the surgery, just because she is one of the best
    around. - and very personable.

    Pat

| 1158.4 | I was very impressed by them | VAXWRK::SKALTSIS | Deb | Wed Mar 02 1988 11:46 | 11 |
| | While I'm very happy with my vet, I'd use Slade if they were closer
to me. I say this based on the weekends that they were the "on-call
vet" when I had to bring Argus in early Sunday morning with a badly
scratched eye. It seemed like they were open for business as usual.
There was a receptionist/vet assistant and a couple of people in the
waiting room. The place was real clean and they were real nice to
Argus (even called me later that afternoon to see how his eye was).

Also, they take cash, check, and Visa/MasterCharge.

    Deb

| | I used to go to Dr. Slade with I lived in Framingham several years
ago...He was a gruff old man, but I was happy with him as a vet.
I understand from the previous response that he is no longer there
but I was very satisfied with the clinic when my dog (opps) fell
    and dislocated her hip...

good luck with your new "child"!!

    Laura

| | Dr. Slade retired a few years ago and sold the practice
with his name to Dr. Migday. I guess Dr. Slade is off
    enjoying his retirement.

| | Re .-1 True, Dr Slade did sell his practice quite a few
years ago. It did go down hill for a while, but is very much
back on the good side now.

Our cat, Cinamon, needed a vet recently (turned out to
be not serious) and we decided to try Slade's again (He used to
be our vet in years past) and we were very pleased at the
response that we got from them. Cinamon was seen by one of the
other vets (Dr. Migday wasn't there that day) and his handling
of Cinamon was very good. To end this, I wouldn't hesitate to go
back to Slade's in the future.

                /s/ Bob

| 1158.9 | Thumbs Up on Slade | NAC::LACOUR |  | Wed Mar 02 1988 15:53 | 18 |
| | I got my cats 6 years ago and was bringing them to Ashland Animal
Hospital, but when it came time to get them fixed, they didn't
participate in the Friends of Animals program. So, I brought my
boys to Slade and saw Dr. Migday. I now live in Westford, 35 miles
away, and still go down to Slade whenever there's a problem or just
for their annual check ups. I tend to make my appointments way
in advance because Dr. Migday is in such demand. There have been
some real crumbs there in the past which is why I insist on seeing
Dr. Migday. However, in the last year or two, I've been pretty
impressed with the other vets there. You should have no problem.

In case anyone is interested and lives in the Bedford, MA/Billerica
area, Dr. Migday's husband is also a vet. His name is Dr. Kaplan
and practices at the McGrath Animal Hospital. I've never been to
him so I can't really give an opinion on him or the practice.

    Mary

| | Again my thanks and you will be happy to know that I was able to
get an appointment with Dr. Migday on the 15th of this month.

| | I can't help it, I have to reply. I received a recommendation to
go to Dr. Migday from someone in this conference. I was VERY pleased
with the attention and service received at Slade and particularly
by Dr. Migday. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

When I told Dr. Migday that I worked for DEC, she laughed and said:
"I've been receiving a lot of requests for appointments from people
in DEC." I told her that it's probably because she's been highly
recommended by a corporate wide network of cat lovers. She said
she only hopes she could live up to the recommendation.

| | Dr. Migday has been mentioned in the Canine file as well as this
one. One DECie in Fitchburg started bringing his irish Wolfhounds
to her as a result of the notes file.
