| We have noticed this behaviour in two or three of our cats. They
all have access to our garden and appreciate the fairly large
population of small birds we seem to get and are always calling
at the window to be let out to play with them. When sleeping, they
sometimes made the same calling noise which gives me some idea of
kitty-dreams. Next time check the tail as well. If it occasionally
thrashes back and forth as our kitties do, it sounds like a good
healthy hunting dream.

| Merlin talks in his sleep occasionally. Karamaneh, almost never.
but being a Siamese, she makes up for it when she's awake.

Copernicus, my Maine Coon, talks more while asleep than while awake.
He twitches, thrashes his tail, and sometimes awakes with a start.
I recently saw something that said only humans and XXX (forgot what
they said, but it wasn't cats) dream. Hunh. Just shows how much
misinformation is in print now-a-days. - Chris

| Yup, my cat Lucius definitely dreamed...I used to watch the legs
and the tail go......sometimes when he fell asleep on his back he
looked like he was doing exercises....he often woke himself up because
of it....It definitely entertained me though! What a cutie! :-)

My Tabby does all those things too. He snores, twitches, howls,
bites, moves his legs, thumps his tail, makes "bird" sounds like
he was hunting birds, and sounds like he's eating.
Must be some really good hunting trips he's on. Sometimes if
I howl too, he must hear it and it sounds like he's responding to
it.
I have a Coon cat that has always snored, too. Sometimes VERY
loudly.

| My Cinamon does it all too. It has gotten more noticable
as she has gotten into "old age", but she has done it all her
life. You can sometimes hear her grunting in the next room!

| Well, if this gets "better" as she gets older, we're in for some long
nights...Hannah is not yet a year old...as for snoring, the 13 year
old, Tabitha, snores so loud she wakes herself up. We checked with the
vet and she is perfectly healthy, she just snores REAL loud.
Isn't it funny that scientists would say that cats, who have very
active imaginations when awake, don't dream? Hard to figure.

I've got bad news for you. Cinamon is the last name of a
whole family (people, not cats) here in town. Ah, well. I guess
there isn't much new in the world anymore. In any case, it's a
good name.
