Well, accuse me of having no sense of humor, but ... I would
not help anyone who would choose or dismiss a pet based upon
whether or not it matched the furniture! Is he for real or
what? This is a joke right? If not, I hope someone worth-
while adopts the cat, because your roommate doesn't deserve
    that, or any, cat.

| | People should be screened before they are ALLOWED to spend
time with a cat. There are some folk that shouldn't be
given the privilege of cat ownership.

Cats especially, since there is more to appreciating them than meets
the eye, but that should be true for ANY pet! In my opinion, some
people don't deserve to have their lives enhanced by pets!

    hmmmmph!!!!

    I stand indignant.

| | I agree with the noters, HOWEVER, I would hope that we
could help find this cat a home -- sounds as if it needs
a place where it can be loved and appreciated.
Has the cat been placed yet?

Whoa, flame off. It was a partially a joke. One of the reasons
he doesn't like the cat is because it doesn't have the traditional
Siamese colouring. I think the main reason he wants to get rid
of it though is the temperment. She's much more independent than the
other cat. Sorry if anyone was offended.

Since people other than those looking for a new cat are reading
this note, I could use some info on what to do with the cat if
I can't place it. I don't want to let my roomate put it to sleep,
but I've been trying to place her for a couple weeks without
results. Is there an animal center in New Hampshire that will try
    to place a pet????

This has got to be a joke! I find it hard to believe that anyone
would get rid of a pet because it didn't match the furniture. Would
he get rid of his girlfriend because her eyes or hair don't match
the furniture!???!!! This guy doesn't deserve a cat!

would be nice if the cat has a particular problem should someone
    want to adopt it.

PS I'm as outraged as the rest of you, but it seems as though we

| 861.8 | It's not the cat..... | WORDS::SWANBERY | Where I step a weed dies | Thu Oct 29 1987 15:12 | 15 |

I don't necessarily see a problem per se with the cat's temperment.
I don't know a lot about cats, but this one seems to have dual
personality - the time it will hide from everyone and the other
it's overfriendly. It also gets nervous when it has to go to
the vet, but I don't have any scratch marks. I prefer this cat to my
roomate's other one, so I don't see it as a problem. Just doesn't
suit my roomate's taste, that's all.

One additional note, my roomate got the cat he wants to keep from
his MOTHER and didn't want to get rid of this one until his MOTHER
offered him another due to arrive next month. See what I'm
getting at? The color and temperment is probably just an excuse.

    Thanks, Adam.

| | Does his mother know he's planning to dump this cat? Maybe she'll
take it back? (and not give him another, I hope.) What's his name,
by the way? I have a feeling the Siamese breeeders in this conference
    would like to know.....

What happened to the moggy. Please, if people find their cat a
home could they put a note in for anyone that reads the notes later
and wonders what happened to yet another unwanted cat.
