| If you haven't already found a suitable candidate, I'd suggest calling
the Boston Cat Hospital (266-PURR) which is located near Kenmore
Square in Boston. As you can surmise from their name, these people
are cat people (WONDERFUL vets) and provide an active placement
service for kitties of all kinds.

| I know you said short hair tabby, but where I board my horse, they
have a few barn cats and someone just found two strays a few weeks
ago and brought them to the barn because she couldn't keep them
at home. One is an adorable solid gray (med-hair) kitten with yellow
eyes. She is getting very friendly and doesn't quite know how to
stay out of the way of the horses' hooves. If you're interested,
