My cats have both stayed out all night occaisionally and kept me
sleeping fitfully until they return early the next morning. Once,
Sebastion didn't return before I had to leave for work, so I left, and
couldn't stand it (I come from a long line of worriers - I go through
"worst case scenarios" in my mind until I drive myself mad) so I
actually drove home on my lunch hour (and a half - it's 40 minutes one
way) to find him in the garage which I had left open several inches.
He came running out as I drove up with a very irritated LOOK on his
face as if to say "where the H*LL have YOU BEEN? RAIR!"

Like several notes have said, if you can stand it, try not to worry,
but I can relate to your feelings, because no matter how many times
they have proven that they come home okay and unharmed and mad because
I didn't let them in the instant they decided they wanted to come
    in, I STILL WORRY.

I wouldn't leave food out for her because she'll return when she
gets hungry. Do search the neighborhood if she's not home tonight
she could be hiding out in a dry spot if you've had the rain we
    did last night.

Good luck. Let us know if (WHEN) she returns.

    Amy.

Yup, that's what I meant. Just a thought, If you leave it outside,
she may not feel it's necessary to go back in for a while. I would
think you would definitely want her in safe and dry when it is raining
    out.

Of course, if you have a kitty door so she can come and go when
she pleases, it may make no difference to you anyway. I tend to
like to have control over when my cats are in and out because I
am such a worry wart. I make sure they're in at night and when
I'm at work, but that's mostly for my own peace of mind. Like I
said, I'm good at torturing myself with "worst-case scenario" -I think
    it's a form a masochism?

    Amy.
