| Paula,
I was going to reccomend note 415 also. It your cat is a nuetered
male you shouldn't have any trouble introducing a new cat. Cat
psychologist's often claim that a nuetered male is a great companion
for a kitten of any sex.

| Well, I found a playmate for Ashes! His name is Spooky. Spooky
is all black, with medium length fur and 4 double paws. He's a
year-old, neutered male. Spooky is very affectionate.
Ashes and Spooky seem to be getting along ok, except when Ashes
is eating and Spooky wants to eat too. They have separate dishes,
but when Spooky comes near Ashes dish, Ashes growls and hisses at
Spooky. Other than that, they seem to tolerate each other, except
for an occassional hiss or two.

PLEASE HELP!
Everyone wants kittens but we have a problem. We have a 7 week
old child who is allergic to our lovable 6 year old female cat.
The cat, named Sam, is very affectionate and playful. She is
short-haired white and orange and weighs about 10 lbs. She is
also declawed front and back is therefore and indoor cat. We have
tried everything to place her. If you have a place in your heart
and your home please contact me ASAP.
The situation is really heartbreaking. If we can't place her she'll
have to be put to sleep soon (our child comes first, and he's really
suffering).

| I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I am due in three weeks
and have lost sleep over the thought of having to lose my Figaro
if my baby is allergic to cats...
I'll keep an eye out for a home, as I know many other noters will
too.

| Vince, how do you know it's the cat? When my daughter was tiny
about the same age as your baby, she seemed to always be
stuffy. The Dr. advised to take everything out of the crib
that was not made of natural fibers - it worked! Turns
out later that Susan does have allergies, but the dog and
cat didn't seem to bother her at all.
I'm sure you have tried EVERYTHING! But I was just wondering....

| Another vote for being sure it is the cat that's the problem. A
friend who is allergic to many things has a baby in the same boat.
Both test sensitive to cats, but the presence or absence of a cat
in the house makes no difference -- they are much more sensitive
to other things, and if the others are controlled, the cat is not
a problem.

| I had to take out of the crib all the cute cuddly stuffed toys,
all blankets and sheets and mattress pads that were not cotton.
She could only wear natural fibers also - difficult finding !
It worked - we kept the dog and the cat!! Gee, now that she
is older, I wonder if I should have given the kid away?????
Just kidding, just kidding!!!!!!
