On a decserver I can set the port to dialup, if I connect to a vax
using lat protocol it will show up as dialup. A customer wants to track
telnet connections to the vax in the same way. He uses $set
audit/audit/enable=login=dialup. The customer wants to know if he can
do this using telnet. I had him try setting the port dialup on the
server but he does not get a auditable event. Is there a way to see a
auditable event for a telnet connection from a diialup port on a
terminal server running tcpip?
Thanks in advance for any help

No. This kind of information is not available in Telnet connections. It is purely something invented by Digital (as is lat). Oswald | |||||

It is easily added to TELNET; someone just needs to do it. The process
is simple:
1. write a description of the telnet attribute and send it to
the IETF to be registered.
2. code it in the terminal server and host TELNET software.
