VMS 6.1/VAX 7600
UCX 4.0
400 LPD Entries
1. With the Set Communications command, what effect does the
/non_ucx Buffers qualifier have ?
2. In the MBUF Summary should Free NON UCX Buffers always read 0.
3. In setting NON UCX Buffers in the configuration file any number
is accepted. In the active system large numbers default to 255.
Please explain ?
4. For new UCX Buffers settings should the system be rebooted to take
affect ? Documemtation does not specify except to say OpenVMS
will pre-allocate.
If so will Free Non UCX Buffers have a non 0 number displayed
if set to max ?
How do you know what amount is appropriate ?
5. Is the printcap re-read from disk every time LPD queues are
re-started. Have 400 LPD entries. It seems heavy use of the
system ( 98% CPU & Memory ) the complete read of the Printcap
file is not done. Is this possible ?
