| | Well, do we know yet that this is terrorism at all, i.e., that
it has political motivation or is a socio-political reaction to
    anything?

Or could it "simply" be sabotage by a vindictive former employee,
or just some sociopathic sicko with a train set at home who wanted
to play "wreck the train" on a larger model? Or something else
    entirely?

drinking alchohol when they committed the crime, or do we include the

It is a shame the terrorism only seems real to *some* americans when it
is happening to the French, I personally found it extremely
infuriating that Bianca Jagger thought it "proper" to give money to the
IRA! ( What do people think they buy with the money, advertising
space? - get real! ). Guns & Bombs cost money, I wonder how many lives
could have been saved in the U.K., Eire & Nortern Ireland if people
actually considered the result of donating to the "political wings" of
    terrorist groups.

Weren't you one of the ones who popped their head up on

how you hated Americans because of the friendly-fire

Don't bother mate ! I've been here, seen it, got embroiled and at the
end of the day all you get are pithy replies along the lines of .94 +
.95. Mature one liners at best. Look at this string for a good example.

    careers.

    		          Stretch.

P.S I will not fall into that 'all are the same' attitude. Dan Killoran
especially, along with literally a couple of other noters, had the
decency to get into a debate on the issues and views which I had a
problem with. For them I would like to say thanks, but the rest put me
right off so I have to stick with read only and a lot of next unseening
due to the dross on display.

No broad brush at all. I specifically remember Mr. Barnard's
remarks in that melee. I have no problem with anyone from
the UK (far from it in fact), but I do remember those who
outwardly profess their hatred for Americans.

One wonders why you bother then.

Look, as a Canadian, I have found that the Americans here are more
than prepared to engage in reasoned debate with foreigners. But it
seems as though most of the Brits that participate here have nothing
better to contribute then to pop in once a month and make some
inflammatory statement, on one or maybe two topics at the most, and
then split once the natives have been riled.

You wanna be taken seriously? Then say something serious. Participate.
Add value. Eat, and be eaten. You have nothing to lose but your pre-
    conceptions.

OK, I was wrong. I went through this conference looking for
notes from BARNARDP, and found only two; both in this topic.
I was pretty sure I remembered the name, so I went to another
conference where the person I thought I remembered had left
notes openly stating his _hatred_ of Americans.
Well, it turns out the user name of that person was RBERNARD,
    not BARNARDP.
As I stated earlier, I have no problems with UK noters. This
one person, however, I did have a problem with. His notes
here were one thing, but the notes he left in the other
conference... well, I can't quote them because they have
been mercifully deleted by the moderators.
So, BARNARDP was not the person who I had the problem with.
On the other hand, I'm not sure why BARNARDP couldn't have said
"I wrote no such notes" when confronted with it, instead of
carrying on like he pinched a major loaf in his diaper, and
    needed a change...

A subway train fire killed 300 people and injured 270 in Azerbaijan's

Police in the former Soviet republic said a spark from a high-voltage
cable could have started Saturday's fire. Many of the deaths were
caused by carbon monoxide poisoning from burning toxic materials.
