Howdy folks,
Well on my way over to this here hot place I bought a suit in
America. The shop were I purchased this here suit had to order
it 'cause they didn't have a size suitable for my hunky figure.
As I would arrive in Australia before the suit would be ready I
asked if they could send it by courier, they agreed this would
be the best way and took my address and so on..........
The suit has now arrived in Australia and is currently stuck
with customs. Who are telling me I have to pay 43% duty !!!!
Now this suit was rather expensive and there is no way I am
going to pay it.
I have told them that I am not an Australian citizen and that I
would have brought the suit with me had the company had it in
stock at the time. I await there answer.
Should I have to pay duty ?????

Yes, you pay duty - there is a difference between accompanied and
un-accompanied luggage. Anyway Australia needs the revenue. try
sweet-talking them.
