I'm trying to invoke a NSDS database, I get the following error..
%SQL-F-ERRATTDEC, Error attaching to database
/type=nsds/path=cdd$compatibility:nsds$I2
-RDB-E-UNAVAILABLE, Rdbaccess for RMS is not available on your system
-RDB-I-TEXT, Error activating image
$5$DUA60:[SYS0.SYSCOMMON.][SYSLIB]NSDS$SHR.EXE;, File not found
How can I get the image NSDS$SHR.EXE , our older version VMS 5.5 and
Rdb 4.1 has this script running fine, and I can see the NSDS$SHR.EXE
too.
Our system manager has installed DBI and Common Components too, but still
we don't see the image. Any help will be appreciated

| Do you see the image in SYS$LIBRARY on the node you are trying this attach on?
If so, try running SYS$STARTUP:NSDS$STARTUP.COM and see if you can attach after
that.

| I don't have SYS$STARTUP:NSDS$STARTUP.COM , I think that is what I'm
trying to get to, how do I get NSDS installed correctly ?

The RMS gateway (NSDS$SHR.EXE) is a separate product from DBI. You say
that you've installed DBI and Common Components but have you done a
VMSINSTAL of the RMS gateway (NSDS)?
