Yep. I was talking to John about that last night and he seemed to think
it depended on which side of the room you were standing. I thought
he was loud no matter what side you were on. 8-)

Like I said, he's usually not loud enough. Kevin is really good for
picking up songs WICKED fast. He can do alot of stuff John can't
at this point too (like Babe...). The other good point is his father

Blue Steel will be making a triumphant (legendary?) return to RHYTHMS
in Clinton, Mass this Friday nite, July 29th. No, Necropolis, aka
Necrophagia, aka Necrophelia, aka Metropolis 8^) will NOT be joining
them on the bill this time around -- but stay tuned for a "reunion"
    gig in the future!

Anyways, I've got nuthing better to do this Friday, so I'll most likely
be heading down to Rhythms in Clinton to rock out with Blue Steel ...

    ...from the East:

Take Route 62 and head west.
Go through Berlin until you get into Clinton.
You'll pass the damn, and will go down, then up a large hill.
Keep on route 62 (past the video place on the left) and you'll come to a
      stop sign. Take a left.
You are still on route 62. At the next stop sign take a right.
You are still on route 62. After the fire station is a row of buildings...
Rythyms is after the video store on the right hand side of the road.
There is a sign out front of the club, and there is plenty of parking across
     the street.
NOTE: If you go under the bridge, you JUST missed it.

At the last Blue Steel show Keith mentioned a reunion show
but I doubt it will happen. Me and Steve are on the outs
BIG TIME because I didn't invite him to my wedding. It seems
at a PT Beanies show he pulled a typical Steve manuver. I
had bought Tracy's ring already but hadn't told her yet.
Steve was b*tching about something concerning band stuff
and said to Tracy (with me in complete ear shot) "He
doesn't have the money, he's too busy buying engagement
    rings."

Needless to say I was PO'd. Friends for 12 years and pulls that.
Friends like that I don't need. He ruined my engagement and
I wasn't about to let him ruin my wedding.

So Stevie Weevie is all mad at me. TOO BAD!

There's three metal tunes, three mellow tunes, and one blues tune

I'd say start and end with a metal song, and mix the rest of
    	'em up in the middle.

No sense giving false impressions to people as to what you're
about, so let 'em know what your main focus is, right up front.

Of course, if you're actually a blues band doing a few metal
songs then start with the blues song.

Next weekend is the recording session. We'll be doing eight songs.
Half of them are metal, and half are softer, kind of popish. Maybe
someone who's come to one of the shows could describe those originals.
There's also one song that's a tribute to Scott Ian (who wrote all
the Stormtroopers of Death material). There's also a blues tune
on it (yes, Pete does a Blues tune!).

Most of the metal was written by me and John O'Connor. For some reason
we seem to mesh well. You will definitely hear my influences in these
tunes. No doubt about it. Me and John seem to have like minds when
    it comes to writting riffs.

The mellower stuff was written by Mike for the most part.

Mix down will be done at a later date for the most part. CD's and
tapes should be out my late October.

This product will be of MUCH better quality than the Plastic Flowers
release. Many reasons for this; attitudes of people involved (it
can play a big part in mixdown), better equipment, better 2" tape,
and more experience with the studio and engineer.

I'm thinking about triggering my bass drums on this one. I was
EXTREMELY displeased with the sound of them on the Mystic Powers
tape. I'm looking for them to be right in your face this time,
alot like the sound of the drummer for Pantera's bass drums.

Anyone have any reccomendations on how to get this sound?

| | Pete,

Bring a copy of a Pantera album to the studio... try and find a place
in a song where the kick drum is isolated (i.e. no other instruments)
and have them sample the kick drum.

From there it becomes easy - you need to find some way to trigger the
sample and there are many ways to do that.

A good studio should have the stuff you need to do (sampler, drum
brain, etc.) this except maybe the triggering device itself (you can
buy piezo triggers for like under $20 I think).

I've never heard Pantera so I can't tell you how to recreate it
    acoustically.

instruments to sound like. Imitating a sound is not hard when you have
a source to go by. Usually, it's all in how you mix it.

    It was *&%$#@ awesome!

Everything went very smoothly! I'm very happy with the drums sound I
got! Everyone really did a good job. All the songs came out better
    than expected.

We did the drums and bass first (guitars and Mikey playing to
a scratch). Then we did all the rythyms. Leads and vocals were done
on Sunday. I did the vocals for Bog of Eternal Stench, which everyone
had to take at least twice (the two second song was the hardest one.
    Go figure).

We did a quick rough mix so we'd have something to listen to until we
mix down for real and even it sounded REALLY good.

I'm happier about this then I've ever been about any session!

Me and Ken were drinking dark beer all weekend and yesterday we
created a bog of eternal stench all right. Now Ken is bog master. 8-)

    Sorry for the delay.

The notes we made up ahead of times were extremely helpful. We sat
down in the band room, hashed it all out before-hand, and made a
list by song and by instrument.

When we went in I handed it to Rob. He was happy. We saved ALOT of
time doing that so my wallet was happy.

The whole thing came out very well (imvho). We've played it on cheap
boom box radios and my car stereo and it sounds clean. WAY better
than the last time I was there.

PRC Records and Black Dragon Management presents...
				 BLUE STEEL!
Blue Steel is a versatile five piece band based from Clinton, MA.
The band was started by drummer Peter Cook in January of 1993
after his departure from heavy metal band Mystic Powers. The
band formed quickly with the additions of Johnny O on guitar,
Alan Studlian on bass guitar, and Michael DuPonte on lead vocals.
The band brought in a second guitar player, Kevin MacKinnon, in
February. Bassist Ken Parker replaced Alan in April, completing
	the band.
In July of 1994 PRC Records was founded by drummer Peter Cook to
fill a void for local bands in the Middlesex County area, and
Blue Steel was signed. The band went into Barking Spider Studios
in Sudbury, MA to work on their debut release, an eight song EP.
The originals are unique and cover different genres of music.
Blues like the song "Passing Away", acoustic like "Falling Star",
and even metal like the song "Raining Blood". Blue Steel has
not categorized themselves like many bands and pride themselves
on playing many styles, playing them well, and incorporating
this into their own original sound and style.
Now and in the coming months Blue Steel will hit the music scene
in Boston as well as the surrounding New England area. Radio
stations from Russia, Poland, England, Canada, Finland, and the
United States have contacted us about Blue Steel and are or will
be playing their music. The debut EP will be distributed through
local record stores and we are currently working on world wide
	distribution starting with Australia.
We are always looking for avenues to get the music of Blue Steel
out to the public. Whether you are an A&R representative, a disk
jockey, music reviewer, or club owner you can help Blue Steel
bring their unique music to ears of the public.
Please contact us about Blue Steel at your earliest convenience.
Our address and phone number is listed above and you can also
contact us on Internet at [email protected].
We hope you enjoy Blue Steel's music!

					   Peter R. Cook

		   BLUE STEEL Band Member Biographies

Seasoned veteran Peter Cook's drumming career began in 1987 with
the Gorehounds, a Boston based Punk band which was signed to
Alien Cactus Records and was distibuted world wide by Midnight
International Records in New York. In 1990 he joined thrash
outfit Mystic Powers and honed his double bass style. Peter
has played radio simulcasts on WERS, WFNX, WJUL, and WBRS. He's
been interviewed on WERS, WJUL, WBIV, and the Freedom & Trilogy
show on local cable. Peter actively writes lyrics and music for
Blue Steel and brings his metal influences into Blue Steel's
style. Peter's influences are Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden and
Charlie Benante from Anthrax. Peter co-wrote many of the songs
on the debut release such as, "Raining Blood", "Slave to
Insanity", "The Marne" and "Passing Away". He also wrote "Bog of
Eternal Stench", a sixteen second tribute to Stormtroopers of
Death. Peter uses Paiste signature series cymbals and TAMA drums.

Singer Mike DuPonte has played with many popular area bands such
as Origins and Reika. Mike has a powerful voice and a captivat-
ing stage presense. His influences range from Robert Plant and
Steven Tyler to Bruce Dickinson and Rob Halford. Mike is also
an accomplished drummer and guitarist and contributes heavily
to the bands original material. Mike wrote the future hits, "How
Can it Be" & "Falling Star" on the debut album. Mike uses Shure
	microphones.
Guitarist Johnny O is an upcoming talent and is a flexible
guitarist, able to play blues one minute and crushing metal the
next. With influences ranging from Albert King, Gary Moore, Jimi
Hendrix, Eric Clapton to Zakk Wilde and Steve Vai, he has an
open minded approach to song writing. Johnny O brings a blues
influence into the songwriting, which he shares in. Johnny O
co-wrote "Slave to Insanity", "Raining Blood", "The Marne", and
"Passing Away" and also wrote the lighter sounding song "Looking
Glass". Johnny O uses Fender guitars.
Guitarist Kevin MacKinnon is relatively new to the music scene
but certainly not to the guitar. His talent with the guitar
completed Blue Steel perfectly. Kevin is influenced by Joe Perry,
Jimmy Page, and early Alice Cooper. His writing style is
straight ahead, hard driving rock and roll. Kevin also cowrote
"Slave to Insanity" and has cowritten several that will appear
on the next album. Kevin plays Gibson guitars and Ampeg
	Amplifiers.
Bassist Ken Parker completed the Blue Steel line-up. His past
bands include City Seige. Ken's influences are Kiss, Billy
Sheehan, Iron Maiden and classical music. Ken can play a wide
range of styles and brings a new aspect into Blue Steel's
original material. Ken plays Washburn bass guitars.

Well, since I just typed these in anyways, I might as well post
    	them:

Depending on where you're coming from:
Route 146S to Uxbridge, Route 16E for about 7 miles until you get
to the Mendon Drive-In. The Zone is right after that [actually
it's right in front of it, but the driveway is right after].
	or
Route 495S to Milford, Route 85S for about 2 miles to Route 16W
for about 5 miles until you start to go down a LONG hill. The
Zone is right before the Drive-In.
If you're a Fools fan, they'll be there sometime in April.

Well, it was a poor turnout ...
... I'd figure I was one of 10 people that paid to get in
[that doesn't count the 5-10 people that I'd figure were
on the guest list]. I expected more people would come over
to check 'em out [from the adjoining bar], but I guess not.
But barring that, I thought they put on a very good show ...
they sounded good [except for that "barely audible guitar
mix" that I've come to hate soundmen for!!] and played well.
As long as I don't have to go to Clinton, etc., to see them
I'd check 'em out again ... but I have a feeling they won't be
"bringing metal back to Mendon" again for awhile, if ever.

Yeah Metropolis needs those 10 people gigs...
never heard BS but MP and metropolis at Ralph's was memorable to me because:
1) I met Buck
2) I introduced Buck to /k
3) I met Rob
4) Metropolis played Carry on Wayward Son
5) db bangin' his head and doing Beavis imitations when MP came on.

Glad you feel that it would take "nerve" to make that claim.

Since you mentioned it, that I feel compelled to give "my side" of why PRC
feels that way - btw that is why he has not paid us.

Someone in BS overheard me say to the owner something like "oh yeah, we
play a kind of music that probably goes over better here than this band".

The BS member told Pete and they both (understandably) presumed that
"we" meant "Metropolis" and that "this band" meant BS. In fact, "we"
meant "the db wilfred band" (my other band at the time) and "this band"
    referred to "Metropolis"!

So if anything, I was stealing gigs from my own band, Metropolis!

Although all I was really trying to do was get the db wilfred band
booked in there. THe owner LIKED BS and he LIKED Metropolis (or really
he just liked that we had a very big draw) and there was no real issue
about BS or Metropolis losing that gig. They've played there since
and I'm sure they can get a gig their whenever they want.

I've tried to explain this to PRC but apparently not successfully.

in Europe and South America. We'll have free demo copies
available in July. If anyone wants one send me e-mail.

We've taken the month of July off. On Thursday August 3rd,
we'll be at Ralph's in Worcester. Other dates in Vermont
    	later that month.
In other news we've got a new rehearsal space. With any luck,
we'll have a new place off High st. in Clinton next to the pool

| | OF NOTE: Below will be my First and FINAL reply in "/prc" scenario
from my perspective. Please note I will not continue in any further
discussion of the following ... thanks.

    >I'm still not quite sure that Buck ISN'T serious about this.

Let me provide clarification below as to my *honest* feelings on
this whole spiel, once and for all...

    >Would Buck actually believe anything PRC tells him?

Not really, I wouldn't, but it should be noted that it WASN'T /prc who
remarked to me about said situation, it was his guitarist, the dood who
claims he sat next to you.

    >Would Buck forget how we got stiffed for a lousy $28 at the first PRC
    >gig?
    >
    >Would Buck take the word of guys (including "the hardest guy to work with"
    >in his own words) who have stiffed him and Metropolis THREE times now?

Buck has not forgotten about the "money" issues, but as I have said
    time and time again...

    - I hold fast to my remark that /prc was one of the hardest people to
work with -- FROM the persective of trying to arrange a gig with him!
Very hard to work out all the logistics involved in a two-band gig on
a small, single stage when the contact person for the other band does
not return your phone calls or Internet mail messages. That is
solely the basis for that comment.

    - I do NOT play music to make money. I made this personal decision a
LONG time ago. This is why I am not in a band, nor do I persue the
"MIB" dream. I don't care if I get paid or not paid to play -- to me,
my payment is in others enjoyment of music I can help to create.

    - I have always said, from a band perspective, that since I do NOT care
about money for performances, that those who DO CARE need to take it
upon *themselves* to work out said details. While I did get us a
couple of gigs (some with BS -- cuz no one else in the band seemed to be
hustling for gigs for Metropolis), that does NOT mean I needed to
work out/handle logistics of payment. I don't know how many times I
notedI would not be responsible for the $$$ matters.

    - I believe those people who are still irked about a loss of cash for
performace played should take the responsibility upon themselves for
not getting paid. Based on the above, that is my honest opinion, like
      it or not.

    >> "Now my band has a proven reputation of drawing big crowds and
    >> pleasing people."

    >Yep, that SURE does sounds like something db would say alright.

I take NO issue or side wether you said that or not -- it's all
heresay, I wasn't there! I was just providing an FYI on what the
person from BS who overheard your discussion with the Tiki dude SAYS
    you said?! Period.

    >We ALL know that doesn't sound like anything that would ever come out
    >of PRC's & company's mouths don't we?

Again, no comment or position on that statement?!

But I *can* attest to the fact that you made not one, but a couple of
derogatory remarks in the parking lot of the Tiki Lau in regards to how
poor you thought BS sounded as they played their first set. Remarks
were that they were too loud, and that they sounded pretty rough for a
band that was playing out as much as they were. You can take whatever
position you want on those statements, but I saw it as not holding BS
is a very positive light, as nothing *nice* or positive was said "on
the other hand". Hence, I sort of put a grain of salt of faith in the
BS guitarists' claim that you *may* have also said some
quasi-derogatory remarks to the tiki manager.

    End of statement.

    Bye...

Oh c'mon Buck. You must think we are all stupid. You did
    rather clearly take a side:
"I think you probably did say they sucked to that dood"
> Not really, I wouldn't, but it should be noted that it WASN'T /prc who
> remarked to me about said situation, it was his guitarist, the dood who
> claims he sat next to you.

Meaning "honest john" the guy who stiffed you for the guitar lesson money.
Clearly he's not the kind of guy who might invent or distort something
I said so as to have an excuse not to pay us. No sirree not him.
... and the fact that they have explicitly given this "incident" as the
reason to stiff Metropolis for that gig money (the third time someone
from that band has stiffed you and/or the band for money!).
> But I *can* attest to the fact that you made not one, but a couple of
> derogatory remarks in the parking lot of the Tiki Lau in regards to how
> poor you thought BS sounded as they played their first set.
Buck, you and I and nearly everyone else in here have had some fun
at PRC's expense. You more than ANYONE I think!
But there's a BIG difference between having a few laughs at someone's
expense and doing something deliberately nasty to hurt their musical
pursuits. I might say something to friends, but I would never
ever try to talk them down to the manager.
It DID NOT happen period. And it absolutely boggles my mind that you
could be so foolish as to believe this bullcrap, especially given
the actions of who it's coming from.

What's to argue, db isn't like that at all!

I've known db since 1986, 1987 and in all that time I have never
known him to do anything underhanded (except for a volleyball
serve). Yes, Dave loves a debate and yes he has his opinion
(remember he's from NJ which is very close to NY so I'll cut him
some slack here ;-) ), but reading about what he's claimed to
have said and/or done about BS doesn't sound like the db I know.

Most of you know that db and I have also played in the same
band for ~5 years. DBW had horrible gigs to great gigs and
during that time I never heard db talk to *any* club owner in the
fashion that the BS member states. That's just not db's style.

I think we *all* can be extra critical of our own bands as well
as other bands and we may not be very nice with our opinion, BUT to
state our opinions to club owners is completely uncool and very
    	unlike db.

Sorry, I can't believe db would say this. It's very unlike him.

Chances are it probably had nothing to do with PRC's band.

There's a "Blue Steel" brand of guitar string. They include stickers

Or... maybe Blue Steel strings are the string brand that the band

Subj:	Blue Steel update. Can you post this in H_M?
Hi Shawn, I was wondering if you could post a Blue Steel update
	in H_M...

Latest band news is Kevin MacKinnon has departed because of musical
differences. Apparantly we were getting too heavy for him. We've
been auditioning some Bezerklee doods. Anyone interested can send me
	mail at [email protected].
Latest word out of New York is that we've sold around 7,000 out of
the 10,000 CDs that PRC Records and Worldmass had produced for
distribution over-seas. We'll be going back into the studio this
fall/winter and putting out our second CD, this time a full length
one (hopefully to be produced by a H_M member). A week or two tour
could follow the second release in Europe if we're lucky.
John MacKinnon is being released from Black Dragon management after
the first Cd deal is concluded. I will take-over management stuff
until new management is found. Reason being his relation to kevin
and the band is unhappy with the bookings as of late (although
some of this is related to the current situation).
At the end of October we will be doing an all-ages benefit for
Lukemia (my friend Peter passed away last October from it). Bands
will include Blue Steel, Monster Zero, and the newly reformed Wild
Vein (all friends of Pete Venuti). It will be held at the VFW in
Clinton, MA the weekend before Halloween. All proceeds will go to
	charity.
I'm currently in the process of re-arranging Termination Suite. The
music is being rewritten by myself and JohnnyO and will be around 10
to 12 minutes in length. Other new tunes are being added almost
weekly. The new one should far surpass the old CD!
CDs and tapes will soon be available at Newbury Comics. I'll be
sending them the first batch this Saturday.
That's all for now. If you'ld like a promo copy of the first CD, send
	me e-mail...
	-Peter

I'd still pass. That's a definite "white elephant" deal if I've ever
    heard one.

Actually, considering the source, I think like most PRC claims there's
an element of truth to it, but there's also a key missing element.

My understanding (and I don't claim to be an expert) is that it is
quite common these days for distributors and record stores to work
on something akin to a "consignment" basis.

I too, severely doubt that 7000 people have bought the Blue Steel CD.
I mean, I really doubt that 7000 people have even heard of them much
    less been "sold" the album.

I suspect what has happened is that 7000 CDS have been accepted either
by a distributor or a record store on some kind of non-binding basis.
In fact, I think that they could easily get that kind of deal.

Whether or not it's valid to claim that they've "sold 7000" is another
story but... remember whom we're talking about here.

It's official, feel free to announce it if you want...
Blue Steel has NOT broken up.
Pete Mackey has left because of tendonitus, the long drive, and
	musical differences.
JohnnyO has also left because of personal and musical differences.
Myself, Ken (bass), and Mike (vocals) are still together as Blue
Steel. We will retain all the rights to the first album except
	for Looking Glass.
We're starting to look for another guitarist (this time we want
	just one).
The distribution deal is still on and going well. We should know
in December how much were sold. It was extended for another 45 days.
Once we reform and write new material we'll be back in the studio,
and this time it will be 2000% better than last time. Don't expect
anymore shows for quite a while.
If anyone is interested in auditioning, send me mail.

Subj:	update
	Blue Steel Nooz!

Yes, we're still together! Blue Steel is still with us. We're
currently working with John Lally on guitar (ex-Mystic Powers)
and we'll see how it goes.
Once we have written more new material we expect to go into the
studio to record our second release. Many of the newer songs
had music written by John O'Connor so we've scrapped the music
for those songs and kept any lyrics me, Mike, or Ken has written.

We'll still be doing all the material on the first album except
for Looking Glass (hated it!) since it's all copyrighted under
my publishing company (and because I co-wrote almost half the
album). We plan on re-doing the music to Slave to Insanity,
Ball Joint (newer), and Sentenced (newer).
The CD deal is done! We sold almost the entire lot of 10,000.
Exact final numbers will be coming (as well as the check! YES!).

On a personal note, I'm buying a house in Rutland, MA. The loan
just got approved yesterday and we close on 1/11/96. I plan on
having a major bash so if you want to go, send me e-mail and I'll
keep you informed. It's an over-sized cape on 6 acres of land.
Once we get enough material for a show, we plan on playing out
in either Clinton or Worcester. I'll update when it's final.
	Caio!

| | Blue Steel's Home Page
[Image]
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the Blue Steel home page! This page will serve many purposes,
but mainly for Blue Steel and PRC Records! Other things that may be covered
here: Iron Maiden, swords, and more. Blue Steel is an independently signed
band based in greater Worcester, Massachusetts.
Blue Steel was founded in 1994 by Peter Cook and Michael DuPonte. The band
currently has one release out, it's self-titled debut EP released on PRC
Records and distributed throughout Europe by World- mass in NY. Within four
months the sales hit 9,500+! This is only the beginning! Now equipped with
a new and better guitarist, Blue Steel's second release will be killer!
Expect the second release sometime in mid-1996.
Blue Steel has played with such bands as Flesh, Dangerous Toys, Physical
Grafitti, Po' Boy Swing, The Fools, the Outlaws, and others. Blue Steel's
music is heavily influenced by Iron Maiden, Alice Cooper, and Black
Sabbath.
Blue Steel is currently undergoing changes! Guitarist John O'Connor agreed
to leave the band and lead guitarist Peter Mackey had to leave after
developing tendonitus. We wish Peterall the best! Former Mystic Powers
guitarist John Lally has now filled the slot of THE guitarist for Blue
Steel. The band is currently writing and practicing new material and should
begin to do a few local Worcester /Boston shows in preparing for their
return into the studio this year.
The Blue Steel line-up is:
Peter Cook: Peter has been in many local legendary bands such as Dreadful
Mourning, Gorehounds, and Mystic Powers. His style is very influenced by
Nicko McBrain yet has a unique double bass style that you won't hear very
often, especially these days. Peter plays Paiste cymbals, Tama drums, Vic
Firth 5A sticks, and DW pedals.
Ken Parker: Ken has been in many underground bands before hitting big with
Blue Steel. His bass technique is heavily influence by Gene Simmons and
Steve Harris. Ken isn't afraid of 5 and 6 string or acoustic basses either!
Ken plays Washburn basses and Fender amps.
Michael DuPonte: Mike has a truly remarkable voice! Influenced by Robert
Plant and the now known Blaze Bailey, he has a wide range from high to low
and an easily recognizable voice that doesn't sound like yet another
Seattle singer clone who sings with a mouthful of oatmeal. Michael is also
an intense stageman who's relentless and full of energy! Michael uses Shure
microphones.
John Lally: John is a veteran of the local music scene and has been in such
bands as Origins and Mystic Powers. His guitar playing has been described
by NE Performer as "rockets off to the solar system!" And it does! A truly
versatile player, he can do everything from jazz, blues, to metal, and
thrash. John plays Gibson and Jackson guitars and Marshall amps.
CD copies of the debut EP are available by mail order. Send email to
[email protected]. CDs are $7.50 plus $2.00 s/h. A limited number of
cassette copies are available FREE! Just tell me that you say it here on
the web page and I will send you a copy!

Iron Maiden has a new album out! It's being distributed here in USA by CMC
International. The Canadian/USA tour has begun! I purchased tickets for the
February 13, 1996 show at Avalon in Boston. Yes, Iron Maiden playing a
club! This show will be nothing short of incredible! Don't miss it if you
like Maiden. Chances are they will be playing intimate places all over the
country, and they haven't done this in well over 15 years. Rumor has it
that either Fear Factory or Savatage will be opening.
I'll be updating this with more news and maybe some photos as soon as I
can. I've been busy moving my home and business to a new location in
Rutland, MA.

Before you go shooting off your mouth about things you don't know about,
you best get your facts straight. JohnnyOwe is a liar. He did not start
the band, I did. He does not own the name. To think so he's nothing
but an egotistical megalomaniac and you're a damn fool for belieiving
him..
And thanks for coming to Wendys funeral, her parents appreciated it. Wendy
thought alot of you.

Subj:	RE: latest distribution list update!
Judy, can you do me a favor and post this in H_M?
Mr. Buckley is once again spreading the lies of JohnnyOwe.
No cease and desist order was ever sent to me or any other
member of the band. This is impossible to issue since he has
not trademarked the name, nor does he have the money required
	to do so.
mr. Buckley needs to get his facts straight and stop spreading
	vicious lies.
Blue Steel is still alive and nothing JohnnyOwe does will stop that.
The man is a liar. End of story.
The fact that Mr. Lally is playing guitar in the band only proves
that JohnnyOwe and Buckley are lieing to every one of you, without

Subj:	RE: latest distribution list update!
I wanted to write to you all and set the record straight once
and for all. Alot of things have been said behind my back and
I find it complimentary that I'm still being talked about four
	years after being laid off.
That was me the other night. I stopped by Coverts house and we were
cruising through notes for old times sake.
On one hand I know why Buck says what he does and on the other I
don't. It's not because he's a bad person, he has just made a bad
	choice of who to believe.

He talks to John O'Connor (he used to teach him) and John O'Connor
has been spreading alot of lies to alot of people, including
Buck. I've known John for a long time, Buck hasn't. I know
what he's like. Buck doesn't. That's okay, John is a good con
man. Buck should know better than to write defaming comments when
he hasn't talked to both parties.

I'll address issues one at a time:
	1. Blue Steel is "broken up".
The gall of someone to say the band is broken up just because
they leave astounds me. He left, we wanted him to leave. No
one person is a band. The band was started by me, John, and Mike
together. John is a self-centered fool, much like I used to be
before I got my act straight. That was then, this is now. The
band is alive and well and we are getting ready to play out. I
am going to be scheduling a show at Sir Morgans Cove soon.
	2. "We're not using the name Blue Steel".
Nobody has rights to the name. It was mutually decided upon,
the name has recognition and we're NOT dropping it. End of
story. If I ever left I would NOT be a loser and demand they
drop the name! God, that is so pathetic! I have called JohnnyOwes
lawyer and no trademark application has been sent for the name
	by him or JohnnyOwe.
Neither me or anyone else in the band have ever received a cease
and desist order, ever. Mike, the singer, talked to JohnnyO
about this name thing a while ago and JohnnyOwe agreed that he
was being silly and we could have the name (as if he had a say).
	3. "John Lally is not in the band".
What Buck said about Lally leaving in a huff the first
night is a LIE straight from JohnnyOwe. This NEVER happened
and if anyone wants to ask Lally himself, I will gladly
provide his phone number. Me and Lally have worked together
off and on for a long time and will continue to. We are good
friends and we all have a great time making music. Whether we
make it big or not doesn't matter, we have a life, unlike some
former members, and we're having alot of fun. Fun is all that
matters. If you're not having fun, it's not worth it.
	4. Record sales.
As for record sales, yeah we did okay, nine thousand five hundred
and sixty something. Better than I thought we would. Unfortunately
for us I let someone else handle the deal and we wound up getting
ripped off by the distributor. Word to the wise: Don't let someone
else handle the deal if you get one. Be involved! Hopefully the
second release will get picked up and will do it right this time.
We'll be concentrating overseas, the U.S. music market is crap.
I suspect Mr. Cooper would cream his spandex if he sold over nine
thousand CDs. I know I did.
	5. The web page.
As for the web page, I was only able to edit it for two days when
it first appeared. After that the site I logged into to edit it went
down and I was unable to update the page, ever. Now it's gone
completely. Yes, I know it inhaled. No, I've never won a Pulitzer
prize, I suspect my detractors haven't either. I am working on the
new one which will be on 'world' at Software Tool & Die in Brookline.
I have access to a scanner so this one will be worthy of wasting
bandwidth. I'll send the new address along.

	6. Swords

By the way Ian, yes I own all of my swords. The rather large
bronze hilted one you saw at King Richards was the one I wore
at my wedding and was bought specifically for that purpose. Hey,
I like swords and horses, what can I say?
	7. Other
I thought the record needed to be set straight. If anyone has any
doubts to the truthfulness of all this I will gladly provide anyone
with phone numbers of the other members of Blue Steel.

In closing, I find it rather sad yet highly predictable that some
people don't have the intestinal fortitude to say things to peoples
face. Sure, they say one thing to you in person then change behind
your back. I know, I used to be guilty of it myself. The key is USED
TO. Remember that. If there's one thing I learned from Wendy, it's
always treat people at face value and don't hide your feelings. I
plan on sticking to that. It's the least I can do.
And by the way Mr. Buckley, we all appreciate you showing up to Wendys
funeral. Wendy was very fond of you and looked up to you. It's too bad
she didn't know you could have cared less whether she lived or died.
You can say whatever you want about me, my family, my band, anything
but THAT went WAY over the line.

	-Peter

| | Most people in this conf. who _know_ me (Coop, /jen, etc.) know that I
give -5% about the general opinions anyone, noters of this conference
or otherwise, hold towards me. I'm my own person and am well adjusted
    with that concept.

However, after re-reading pete's diatribe, I find the following
    absolutely abhorrent and completely inexcusable:

    >	And by the way Mr. Buckley, we all appreciate you showing up to Wendys
    >	funeral. Wendy was very fond of you and looked up to you. It's too bad
    >	she didn't know you could have cared less whether she lived or died.
    >	You can say whatever you want about me, my family, my band, anything
    >	but THAT went WAY over the line.

    Sounds like Pete is...

    1) Implying I _verbally_ said something to the tune of "I could have
       ever cared less about Wendy"

    2) Implying I blew off her funeral services due to holding such an
       opinion of her

First off, Mr. Cook, you're a scumbag for even bringing poor Wendy into
this discussion AT ALL. Leave her to rest in peace, thank you!

Secondly, Wendy was actually one of the few people in this conference I
liked and care(d) about. Due to some of the conversations Wendy and I
had about the way some of you other noters had treated her in the past,
I think you're damn hypocritical to say otherwise (you know who you
    are)!

True, I was not able to attend funeral services for Wendy, but to say
this meant I didn't care is untrue. I simply had a comflict that
Sunday, period. Why then did I take the time to let her Equestrian
internet friends know what had happened to her? Surely someone would
"didn't care" wouldn't have gone through the effort?!

Anyone who would like to contend that I have EVER verbally said
anything negative about WendyO is welcomed to address me off-line
    in mail.

    Thanks and regards...

Blue Steel was founded in 1994 by Peter Cook and Michael DuPonte. The
band currently has one release out, it's self-titled debut EP released
on PRC Records and distributed throughout Europe by World- mass in NY.
Within four months the sales hit 9,500+! This is only the beginning!
Now equipped with a new and better guitarist, Blue Steel's second
release will be killer! Expect the second release sometime in mid-1996.

Gee, what 5 years and some time in prison won't do for a seasoned
veteran like Keith Poulin. Per /prIc's web page, he's back at the

| | I just checked out Pete's web page:

    1) It's a boy!!! - no, the kid ain't born yet, but they did an ultrasound.

    2) "Iron Grover" is out, and "Blastered" is in.

Apparantly John Lally was "uncomfortable" with the "Iron Grover"
       name.

       Here's the explanation for "Blastered"

"Take one part plastered, one part bastard, and one part Blaster
(Star Wars reference). Mix them all together and you get...
    	  BLASTERED!"

    Here's more:

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Blastered Band Biography

Blastered is an agressive rock and roll band based out of the greater
Worcester area in Massachusetts. Originally named Blue Steel, the band
changed it's name in 1997. The band was founded in 1993 by drummer
Peter Cook. Their original music combines a 90's sound with big
influences from Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper, all presented with a
sense of humor. The band has one CD out under their old name which was
distributed and sold almost 10,000 copies throughout Europe and South
    America.

As the band grew in maturity their sound got heavier. This caused a few
line-up changes. The song writing and the bands sound has gone through
an incredible change since the departure of the old line-up. Drummer
Peter Cook writes a great deal of the lyrics and guitarist John Lally
writes much of the music. Singer Keith Poulin and bassist Ken Parker
are also beginning to contribute. The band arranges all of their songs
together. The band is still writing new material and plans to re-enter
the studio in 1997. PRC Records will make a limited amount available
locally and via mail-order but the majority of the copies of the new
release will be targetted towards Europe.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

He also has pictures of each band member.
