The album before "Cold lake" was "Into the pandemonium" and aparently it's quite
an experiment mixing heavy metal with some classic influences including opera
voices (I just tell what I read about).

| That sounds right ... it's a very intense album. Some of the songs are
a bit too "dark" for me though ...

Borrowed their new(?) release from Steve D. The guitar work
sounds excellent (Slayer-ish) but, IMO, the vocals are horrible!!
Anyone have one of those machines that removes vocal tracks? 8^)

| Celtic Frost are gods. Morbid Tales is a classic,(especially when it
came out,in 1983).
Anyone remember HELLHAMMER,the band Tom "God" Warrior had before C.F.?
Apocalyptic Raids is a classic.

| I've listened only "Into the Pandemonium" and their last one, "Vanity / Nemesis"
ItP is better but V/N is also quite good. On V/N the vocals could be much more
acceptable without the repetitive "hugh !" at the begining of each song.
In my opinion, Coroner (also a swiss band) is better actually than Celtic Frost
(also heavier and punchier).
ItP has the merrit of being quite original for this kind of metal. It deserves
attentive listening.

| Coroner are ex-members of Celtic Frost`s road crew. A good band -
though they never seemed to quite match the first demo they released
about 4-5 years ago. A classic,(though difficult to get hold of now
i should imagine.
