I'm listening to the CD from this three-men band called The Big F. The CD is self-entitled. It's actually very good. They are from California (at least the contact is) and the CD is dated 1989. They are 10 songs on it, all being quite long (5 or 6 mn). One of the good tune is called "Kill the Cowboy". They sound a bit like The Cult, also the Doors spirit's it and some serious influence from LedZep on the guitar solo side. I've never heard of them before, any information ? Didier PS : The sleeve of the album is VERY strange!

I got the CD a while ago when BMG had a "buy 3 get one free"
    	deal or something like that.

Like you said, it's similar to The Cult. Progressive, in a
way, with fairly long instrumental breaks in the songs.

If I think of it, I'll have to bring it with me tomorrow and
give it another listen. I remember a couple good songs that
were on it, but I forgot what they're called.

Not from me ... I had some spare time last night so I list-
    	ened to Spinal Tap instead.

Sorin, if you're stil reading, then I do have a new opinion ...
I went back and gave this CD 2 back-to-back listens and I have
changed my opinion from "they're OK" to "they WAIL".

Hard to classify, but I have to throw them in the "heavy alter-
native, guitar-oriented rock". Wailing guitar, good vocals [no
Geoff Tate, of course, but good for the style of music], bass
    	and drums very consistent throughout.

    	I definitely recommend this album.

| Thanks GTI, I still read the notes. I'll look again for the CD. I have
listened a part of it and it was sounding very early seventies. Good
music but quite strange these days.

More stuff ... I picked up "Patience Peregrine" [CD single with
3 other songs] and "Is" [full-length release containing the a-
    	forementioned "Patience Peregrine"].

So far I've only listened to the single and the 3 extra cuts,
but I will give "Is" a listen very soon. Hopefully they won't
let me down too much. The single/extras didn't do much for me.
