I have "Marauder" and "Vertical Smiles" on record ... the
    	ones I really like are:

    	"Ride With You"
    	"Limelight"

and a couple off of "Marauder", but I forgot what they are.

I'll have to dig that out and listen to it again.

| | I do not know Blackfoot which I'll try to listen.
But I've heard that Ken Hensley (ex. Uriah Heep) has been part of it at
a moment. Is it true ? Hensley was playing keyboards and guitars
    usually.

| | Yep,

Ken Hensley played on SIOGO for sure. That's the last (half) decent
album they made but I'd suggest you pick up some of the earlier
    material: "Marauder" 1981
              "Tomcattin" 1980
              "Strikes" 1979

Then you could try the live album : "Highway Song Live." This has
got to be one of the rawest live recordings ever; definitely up
there with AC/DC's "If You Want Blood" in terms of sheer energy.

'80 or so and they put on a really good show!

                I've got `Marauder' and `Strikes'. Remember when
                K-TEL had `Southern Fried Rock' out ? That's the
kind of style I'd have to classify them as. It's
a sort of Southern Heavy METAL. Nothing wrong
                with that though. :^)

I have that "Southern Fried Rock" (or whatever it's called)
tape ... some good stuff on it.

I listened to "Marauder" last night, and "Good Morning" and
"Rattlesnake Rock'n'Roller" (the latter starts out with a
banjo, and then there's a great mix of piano/guitar/banjo
    	in the song).

AHA ! I just remembered the song that prompted
me to buy Blackfoot in the first place. It's
`Train, Train' ! The one that starts off with
                the harmonica. Excellent tune !

| | I witnessed this band in 1981 at the Orpheum Theatre in BOSTON.
They headlined the event with Def Leppard opening. The latter had
painful volume levels and played seven or eight tunes, suprisingly
not doing "heartache". Blackfoot followed with a superior set that
mezmerized those that retained their hearing. I recall "Wishing
Well" and Reckless Abandoner" as suprise gems. Serious musicianship
    displayed throughout their performance.............DP.........

| | Original band member are :
Rick Medlocke Guitar
Jakson Spires drums
Charlie Hargrett	guitar
Greg Wilker bass
Discography is :
No reservation 1975
Flyin' High 1976
Strikes 1979
Tomcattin'	1980
Marauder	1981
Highway Song Live 1982
Siogo 1983
Vertical Smiles 1984
Then Rick Medlocke bough the (very expenssive) rights of each member to own
the name "Blackfoot" and came out with a solo called "R Medlocke & Blackfoot" in
1987. He said himself, that it's a poor LP.
But today he is coming back with a new real LP in the Indian Tradition.
Note that also Rick plays Drums (?) in "Skinyrd's First and last" after 2 weeks
of training.
Medicine Man 1990
Todays band members are :
Rick Medlocke guitar
Neil Casar guitar
Rikki Mear bass
Gunner Ross drums
New LP is supposed to be VERY good.

| | I have three Blackfoot records:

    	- MARAUDER (LP)
    	- TOMCATTIN' (CD)
    	- HIGHWAY SONG LIVE (LP)

These three records are really venom! They strike like rattlesnake.
I have also heard "STRIKES" and "FLYING HIGH" and they are good,
but "SIOGO" and "VERTICAL SMILES" I don't like. From times of SIOGO
    Blackfoot lost it's teeth.

I wonder where is Medlocke now and what he's up to?
Does anyone know if he plays in another band?

I did here that Blackfoot had reformed and were putting together
another album in the style of "Marauder".
If anyone knows anymore about Blackfoot keep us informed.

| | I read recently that he came back with a new BlackFoot LP (no other original
member are included) called "Medicine Man". It's supposed to be very good, back
to the indian-blues-rock spirit.
He had a lot of problems buying the name back to the other members and it took
some time to come back to life with a real band
The album is out for some time now

| | I recently bought "Medicine Man".This is without doubt the best album
Blackfoot have made since Marauder, the only probem is thats it's too
short. There are only even songs on the the album/ep but they are a
return to the style Blackfoot are best at.There is a great cover of
Free's "The Stealer",which is not as good as the original but is still
    superb with it's Indian rythmn.
