by him though is "Life's been good to me so far". But, unfortunately
you don't hear it much anymore. Great driving tune!!!

He put on a pretty good show back then, but I've seen/heard of
some pretty druken performances where he could barely play.

I think Joe is great! One of my favorite rock slide guitarist (alongside Rod
Price of Foghat), and also great with the wah-wah. He's had a long history in
rock and roll. IMO, the highlight of his work was the orchestrated solo at the
end of "Hotel California" with Don Felder - that's just amazing guitar
playing/writing!
I also saw him at the Centrum backing up Foreigner, but was disappointed with
the show - it sounded awful! But I saw him back with the Eagles, and he was
the highlight of the show! ("Joe Walsh for President!")

    When Joe plays, everyone plays...

I saw him on Letterman and he said that he named the album "Got any
Gum?" because he saw a panhandler on the sidewalk and started to give
him some money when the guy said, 'got any gum?' It may not be true,
    but it's pretty funny nonetheless.

He was the best artist in that band.

For one, he sang "In The City" which sounds more like his solo
stuff. You may remember that one from the movie THE WARRIORS.

| | "In the City" was a solo project for Joe, it was re-done with the
Eagles for the Long Run LP. Joe joined the Eagles during the recording
of "Hotel California" .But to call him the best artist in the Eagles
is a bit over stated IMO.

| | I think Joe sings one song on each of the albums he did with the Eagles. On
'Hotel California' he sings "Pretty Maids", I think. On 'The Long Run' he sigs
"In The City". Of course, on the live album he sings several of his solo hits,
including "Life Been Good To Me" and "All Night Long".
By the time Joe joined the band, it was basically run by Don Henley and Glenn
Frey. The other guys were more like side-men.
While I like Joe a lot, I gotta admit that I think that Henley is the creative
genius behind the band. An incredible lyricist......check out "Wasted Time" on
'Hotel California'!

| | Yes, I heard that. The Eagles are planning a reunion tour of some sort.
And I'll tell you...If you get a chance, CHECK THEM OUT !
They put on an EXCELLENT show. Only concert I've seen that compares is
Queensryche, but that goes without saying. I saw The Eagles, Heart and
the Little River Band at the Yale Bowl in Conneticutt. It was killer.
They don't miss a note !

I saw the one other show of that 'tour' (two show tour???) at
the Meadowlands in Jersey. I expected Heart to be good (had seen
them before that) and was pretty surprised by the Eagles.....but
I was shocked at how good LRB was live! Wow, that was 10 years
    ago this June!

out but Henly and Frey have got together and have been going thru
out-take cuts from the last 3 or so LPs to make up one more Eagles
LP/CD. this could be great !

I saw at least 10 Eagles concerts, Foxboro, that Conn. show,
Providence a few time, springfield (I think it was Springfield)
a few times......and once in NY too, they do put on one hell of a show

"I'm a classic rocker, so I belong here," Joe Walsh says of his duties
    as a Friday-night host for New York's classic-rock station K-ROCK. And
what of all the Eagles-reunion talk? "I'm going to keep my fingers
crossed," says Walsh. "I think at this poing Don [Henley] and Glenn
[Frey] have resolved any differences between them. Don has pretty much
done his solo career, and I think now we all kind of miss the old days.
But if we do it, we have to do it right. And I don't even know if
    Henley can play drums anymore."

I think it's really good, some of the songs remind me of the stuff
he used to do with the Eagles. Then there are the usual goofy tunes
like VOTE FOR ME. Check it out, it's cool.
