| Well, Q5 have the recorded the two mentioned LPs in '85 and '86 I think
for Music for Nations. I think it's recorded in the US but I will
verify at home this evening and tell you tomorow.
Their music (at least on the first LP) and singing recalls Judas Priest
and it's really good even if you don't like Priest.

| Hello,
I have some new information about Q5. They are from Seattle, one of
their guitarists is named Floyd Rose and he was also the producer of
the two discs. They were recorded in US originally for Albatross and
after reapeared under Music for Nations. The singer is named Jonathan
K. and there is another member Rick Pierce (there are two more but I
don't remember the names). As I've said both LPs are good but they just
disappeared (I have no more news about).

He may be as he has also some Floyd Rose studio I think (where the
first LP has been recorded).
What is the locking tremelo (I just listen music and don't play
excepting for amusement on my Amiga).

| re: what's a locking tremelo
A tremelo in general is a mechanism they put on some guitars that allow
you to raise or lower the pitch of the strings while you're playing.
Also referred to as a whammy or a wang-bar by players.
The locking variety has mechanisms which lock the strings at the nut
(end of the neck) rather then having them running over a nut (like a
guide, stops the vibration at a certain place) up to the tuners. The
intent is to keep the strings in tune better, as the non-locking
variety of tremelo traditionally made your guitar go out of tune if you
used it very much.
