| 189.1 | Finally, somebody LISTENED!!!! | PLEXUS::V5REGISTRAR |  | Fri Aug 05 1988 16:43 | 19 |
| | The first time I heard Vinnie Vincent I wanted to gag. I thought
the album (the first one) was just another screamy singer and a
100mph dime a dozen guitarist. The more I listened to it, the
more I liked it. It takes a while to be able to tolerate the
    meaning- and endless solos, though.

The second album, All Systems Go, is another story all together.
This album kicks!! Obviously, Vinnie and friends *listened* to
what people had to say: that the solos were overpowering, the clothes,
hair, makeup and attitude were positively obnoxious, and getting
in the way of quality music. The new album isn't as totally outrageous
as the last one, and I mean that as a compliment. The tunes are
more melodic and refined, as opposed to all-holds-barred wildness.
It really *is* good stuff. They dropped the obnoxious image and
I think these guys have finally got their act together.

    Awesome. I love it.

I liked Vinnie's first album it was over the top he was just showing
what he could do since in Kiss his solo's were stifled(sp?).I
realy haven't listend to ALL SYSTEMS yet what are the real good
    tracks.

| | One of the worst live bands I've ever seen. So I never bothered to listen
to the album. It sounds like I should skip the first, but maybe check out
the second.

I haven't seen them, or really heard the albums. I heard Boyz are
gonna rock on the radio once...i thought it was the usualy...screamy
    singer, hammer-noise guitarist.

My students (who keep me up on the latest and greatest in the metal
scene) all hate the VVI, they say the band is "the worst".
So, I take their word for it.

maybe the 2nd lp is better?

    Buck

PS - i agree about the image though, way too much pink, Vinnie always
    looked like a flamer.

But seriously I havent heard VV 2nd album but what I heard from
the first made me sick. Like I said..his first album rotted but

                 SECONDS!!!!

I saw him with A. Cooper and Vinnie couldn't
                 have been worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!

While warming up backstage, even without all
the jumbled noise of his wanna-be band he was ATROCIOUS

He can play two-hundered m.p.h. but WHAT he

Was that the show where his equipment was repossesed(sp?) and he
went on with a high fever and was in the john for 15 minutes
vomiting his brains out then came on and did three songs and left.

also his wanna be band? I don't know about the drummer but the bassist
is a respected studio musician and the vocalist has a tremendous
range. so where do you get wanna be's.If vinnie sucks why was it
reported that he got a seven record deal with the label that he's
    on,just from his guitar playing.

    RE;-2
Okay about the wanna be part,I knew there was something about the
talent in this band that I read about.

Bob Rock:Drummer, did two years at Berklee, also beat out Fred Courry
and Greg Bissonett for the Job in the invasion.

Dana Strum:Bassist,Was responsible for finding Jake E Lee and Randy
Rhoads for Ozzy,he also does a number of other things like producing
he did the Oz's Bark At The Moon concert for EMTVy and the I'm so
tired Mini Live Album,His studio work includes albums from Barry
    Manilow to Cheap Trick.

Vinnie Vincent: Was a studio musician, did a couple of movie soundtracks
Was responsible for most of the songs on Lick it Up,His playing
ability ranges from country steel to metal.

Mark Slaughter:Singer He's brand new hasn't done anything else yet

Now why would like Dana who knows what a talanted guitarist is
hook up with someone who sucks.

| | This weekend I saw a new VVI video for some song from the Nightmare
on Elm Street IV soundtrack. It sounded pretty good, but Vinnie
*does* look like an alien. I couldn't decide which was scarier,
    him or Freddie...

I give it a thumbs up.

    set to leave.

Dana is a talanted producer and a decent bass player, Mark is a good
