| 1275.2 |  | WRKSYS::COULTER | If this typewriter can't do it, ... | Thu Apr 17 1997 08:32 | 12 |
|  |     This is a problem:

    	$ dir NEBBIA::[ALENIA1]
    	%DIRECT-E-OPENIN, error opening NEBBIA::[ALENIA1]*.*;* as input
    	-RMS-E-DNF, directory not found
    	-SYSTEM-W-NOSUCHFILE, no such file

    But is there some other problem with the system? The
    error report that it cannot load the colormap on a 3D30
    with an example program is the only issue the customer
    has?

| 1275.3 | I've posted the file OPEN3DIVPERROR.TXT | MLNCSC::BORGINI |  | Thu Apr 17 1997 10:44 | 9 |
|  | Hi .2,
     excuse me, maybe I've deleted this subdirectory without thinking...
However the file OPEN3DIVPERROR.TXT;1 is also on my default directory,
AT$DISK:[BORGINI], on the node NEBBIA.
I've posted it by mail to you, so there aren't any possible my confusions.
Thanks and regards,
                  Roberto.

| 1275.4 |  | WRKSYS::COULTER | If this typewriter can't do it, ... | Thu Apr 17 1997 10:44 | 12 |
| | From our QA lab, this report:

    >All pst tests will report such "colormap allocation failed" under
    >CDE enviroment with an 8-plane board (zlx-e1, zlxp-e1, tga2-2MB).
    >This happens on both OSF and UNIX and on any system.
    >
    >No problem on 24-plane board, eg tga2-16MB.
    >No problem under xdm enviroment(on both type of boards).

    CDE is known to be a colormap hog. Otherwise, this seems
    to work here. Anything else running?

|  | Hi Dick,
       thanks for your suggestions. My customer will try pst_cube IVP test
       on this Alphastation 255 with an interface more powerful, the
       Powerstorm 4D20, as soon as he will have one.
Regards,
       Roberto.
