1253.0. "Open3D 4.1 for VMS...where's SYS$GYADRIVER.EXE?" by PEACHS::DALEY (Maybe I should drink more coffee...or less!) Mon Mar 03 1997 14:10
Hi,
I may have missed something obvious, but here goes...
My customer has a DEC 3000/600 with OpenVMS 7.1, dual
ZLX-E1 cards and Open3D 4.1 installed. When she boots,
she gets no graphics...gets the message that no
graphics is present.
But SDA clue config shows the ZLX-E board...at least
one of them.
When she does "mc sysman io auto/log" , it complains
that it can't find SYS$GYADRIVER.EXE. When she installed
Open3d, she specified that she has ZLX-E1 cards.
She *does* have SYS$GYCDRIVER.EXE in sys$common:[sys$ldr],
but SYS$GYADRIVER.EXE is nowhere to be found.
She tried renaming GYC to GYA and rebooted. It got rid
of the no graphics message, but it didn't work.
I looked in the on-line Open3D 4.1 install guide, and
it doesn't list SYS$GYADRIVER.EXE as one of the files
in the kit!
The release notes for VMS and Open3D mention nothing about
all this...just that it should all work. What do we do...
adjust VMS somehow? Use GYADRIVER from the 3.5 kit?
is GYADRIVER really not in the 4.1 kit...not supposed to
be? I'm confused.
Thanks for any help....
John

| Nevermind...SYS$GYADRIVER.EXE comes from OpenVMS kit.
We're trying to figure out why she didn't have it...but
that's our problem.
