| | Wierd how I never seem to write a patch with OD2??

I dunno, the book describes it to be the sound I like "Over the top!".
Maybe I'm getting old, but OD1 goes about as far over the top as I
    want lately... ;-)

| | I must say I don't have one, but I think I have something set in there
don't I? It's real nice(for those of you who haven't had the pleasure
    of playing thru it).

| | Oh, your just saying that:)_ Actually, I was rushed, and I didn't make
it as perfect as I wanted it. I was only down there for an hour or so.

Qverb 2 setting I like to use with this has reverb, delay, chorus, and
some EQ. The 5-band EQ is set at 31, 1, -61, 31, 3. Chorus has speed:
    10, depth:80, feedback:5. Delay is 395ms, and Reverb is 3.74s decay
with hi damping:10 and low damping:20.

| | They're coming. I've been test driving your patches. I don't think
they quite sounded like you intended as is so there are definitely some
differences in our rigs that factor in.

| | Question from a non JMP owner: Can you really get these things to sound
like a "real" amp? I've played with lots of different rack based gear,
have owned a Soho, and have a Chandler Tube Driver now for recording, but
no rack gear I've used matches the sound of a good combo or head/cab setup,
at least to my ears. They can sound *good*, but are more unique, and to
get the sound of a JCM800 I've found you need a JCM800 (for example).
I understand the desire for the flexibility of preset patches and MIDI,
etc, but am wondering if you pay for that with a tradeoff when trying to
   get that "one sound".
Does the JMP-1 solve that "problem", or does any modern preamp?
   Thanks in advance,
   -- Sam
P.S. Also, what can you get them for now? Musician's Friend doesn't seem
   to list them anymore...

| | I think they rule. My guitar friends that have been over to try it are
green with envy. It sounds more like an amp should than some of the
    combos/heads that I've used.

Give Coop's a test drive. there was also one put in 2.last recently.

The summer '96 version of Musician's Friend doesn't show it on page 25,
but the rack power amps that they marry are. The spring edition did
have it. Probably just a slight oversight.
