The 1612 was called the Custom Electric Balladeer, which was a slightly
fancier version of Ovation's most basic deep bowl model. I don't know
anything about Ovation serial #'s, but it's possible to get a rough
idea of the period by the style of the neck, which became more v-shaped
and less glossy in later years.
