| | Paul,
You brought a lot of good notes to this conference. Hopefully you'll be
    back soon. Take care.
    Cheers,
    Ron

Good Luck in LAD land (life after Digital). I have some stuff heading
your way in the mail. Keep jamming!

| | Goodbye Paul, I wish you well. Perhaps another contract will land you
with Digital again sometime. You know where to find us if it does...

I also enjoyed your notes, they incited some interesting discussions!

| | I echo the previous comments; I always new something interesting was
going to follow when I saw your name on the header (and not that I
always agreed with you either; so much the better!).

Hope you make it back in here sometime; you'll be missed.

say hi. And thanks for spelling my name right! %^)

| 2809.8 | Status = quo | SUBSYS::GODIN | My other preamp is a TriAxis. | Mon Sep 20 1993 14:53 | 35 |
| | Now that I've been relegated to a VT terminal only, I can't do all that
cool stuff like check for misspelled names, etc. I'm still trying to
stir up enough interest in a couple of different departments to get me
a new contract or (heaven forbid) a *real* job, but so far "...if it
wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all..."

I'm going to try to extract some of the more interesting notes before
leaving so that I'll have something to read on my vacation. The
    "lesson-a-week" looks potentially interesting.

I did manage to acquire one of those "ugly" headless tiny Steiny clones
& I actually like the thing.

Since I've been here way beyond my wildest expectations, I can hardly
complain about the so called "DEC culture" (unless it's that fuzzy stuff
growing in my coffee cup). It's a little annoying, however, to be on a
temporary contract when there's people with 10+ years here getting
TFSO'd. It's even more annoying that I have to postpone my GTS
aspirations of getting a Boogie TriAxis 'til I have an income again.

It's been an enlightening experience browsing these notes. A year ago,
not only did I not even know how to find a notes conference, but I
didn't even know what GTS was !

I'm really looking forward to the DEC Jam event even though I'm not
playing in it. Based on the underground rumors, some of those guys (you
guys) can pick some fine stuff.

I'll let you know if they decide to keep me after all.

    Paul

BTW, if I left your name out of my .0 list or misspelled it, don't feel
excluded. I've been up to my thyroid in trying to find a new contract
    around here.

Actually, you can. I do it all the time. My workstation's slow and I
don't like the editor the Xwin version gives you, so I always use the
character cell terminal interface to notes. Use TPU as your editor and
type the Do key followed by the command SPELL to spell check your note.

| 2809.10 | Will edit for food. | SUBSYS::GODIN | My other preamp is a TriAxis. | Tue Sep 21 1993 06:59 | 8 |
| | Thanks Greg. I always wondered what that "Do" key was for. I use TPU in
NOTES & EDT for everything else. The real limitation is that I can't
suspend everything & open another window, plus the terminal is sometimes
painfully slow. Also, since I rarely have to do fancy stuff with TPU, what
I don't know about TPU could fill a book (the TPU manual).
Maybe I'll read that on my vacation too ;-)

| | It's a shame to see people go, so many have gone over the last couple
of years. I hope you do well in whatever you choose, and with some
luck we will see you in here again real soon
