*OFFICIAL DEC JAM 93 ANNOUNCEMENT*
**********************************
This is to inform everyone of the status of the 1993 DEC JAM.
Where: Sir Morgans Cove, Green ST., Worcester Mass.
When : Sunday September 26th, from 6 to 11pm.
Volunteers : This is the list of volunteers to date.(more welcome)
Joyce Tomao : Roadie, work the door
Jeff Dickens: Advertising (flyers)
Jim Carroll : Advertising (flyers)
Tom Tomg : Video & Still Photography
Sound & Lighting: Will be provided by the club. Its a mega P.A and
light show. There may be a small fee involved
depending on the attendance the day of the show.
I will look into this one.
Format: Five (digital) bands, solo acts welcome. Each band
will play a 40min set with solo acts used for
extra time fill. There will be a house drum kit
that I will supply, I'm still looking for a bass
cab we can use (any takers).
As far as bands go I would really prefer to keep
this a old time dec jam, what I mean by this is
I would like to see bands put together with
other deccies for a one time deal. This will
keep it from being a band showcase and leave it
up to you to bring people together to have some
fun. For example, myself along with 3 other
noters have formed a band just for this one day,
we all have other full time bands that could play,
but that would be to easy and boring. So lets
get back to the roots of the dec jam and have
some fun with it.
First five bands who reply to me with this concept are in,
band number 1 just replied.
Alan Starr Vocals, Guitar
Andy Foster Vocals, Guitar
Dave Hickernell Vocals, Bass
Mike Capozzo Drums

Thanks to everyone for the overwhelming interest in playing
and participating in the DECJAM 93. So far I have had more than enough
bands offer to play, I wish there was a way that all could jam but we
only have so many hours to pull this off. Below is a list of the bands
who have replied, the names of the people in the bands and the order of
which they replied. I will try to extend the number to six bands and
keep the remaining bands on the list encase of a cancellation. Again
thanks to all for making this easy.
Also to protect myself as well as others I would like to add a
disclaimer. This is not a Digital Equipment Corp function or will Digital
be funding it. This is a private party run by the noters and will be a
night club gig like any other gig you would play in. I am not responsible
for your actions before during and after the event. And like always when
drinking use your head, let some drive who doesn't drink.
I would like to put out a request that would make this a even
greater event. Anyone think they could draft Charlie Farren a fellow
noter to MC the Jam, or maybe play a couple of tunes???????????

26 days and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok people lets get this thing off and running. I haven't heard much
as of late, we need to spark up the interest and make this Jam happen.
I should be receiving fliers that you can post at work and anywhere else
you want to. This is a good time to start telling friends and relatives.
It looks like there will be seven bands starting at around 6:00PM,
please try and limit your sets to 30mins, with a 15min stage change
between bands, this will take us until 11:00PM. I will be providing the
Drum kit, this will be a five piece kit, drummers are welcome to bring
their own cymbals however they will be provided (go easy on them). Andy
Foster will supply a house bass rig, for the rest, your on your own but try
to keep it simple for fast set changes. Alan Starr is working on some
DECJAM '93' tee shirts with the DECJAM 93 logo on the front and the
bands names on the back, all shirts will be one color and one size
(Xlarge), not sure on the price (Alan will post a note, right Alan??)
I don't no about the rest of you but our band White Noise is ready and
very psyched!!!!!
Below is the time slots, send me mail if you would like on a
possible time, if this gets to confusing I will pull band names out of a
hat.
