| | If you are looking for a used instrument, I would suggest you go
    straight to Mr. Music in Allston. He has an incredible selection
    of Les Pauls, SG's, ES335/45/55, Arch-tops, etc. in stock. He
    is located on Harvard Ave, just off Cambridge street.

    If you are looking for a new instrument, Check out EU Wurlitzers,
    Mr C's in Marlboro, or Daddy's Junky Music.

| 1898.3 | Authorized Gibson Dealer | SALEM::ASBURY |  | Wed Aug 01 1990 10:12 | 6 |
| | Hampshire Music Co. Rt. 101 in Nashua, N.H. is an authorized Gibson
    dealer. They have Dove's, Hummingbirds (I have one), the Chet Akins
    electric-classical, Country-Gentlemens and also banjos. Quite a
    good selection for summertime pickin' & grinin'.

| 1898.5 |  | ICS::HALL | Whaddya mean, GOOD? I want RESULTS! | Thu Aug 02 1990 12:46 | 21 |
| | If you're talking about electric Gibsons, hit NEXT UNSEEN now; I'm
    talking acoustic here.

    I have an old Gibson J-45 I bought new in 1965 and a 1972 Martin D-18 I
    bought in 1980. A few weeks ago, I was considering buying a Guild I'd
    looked at, and having not bought a guitar in a long time, I went up to
    Hampshire Music to play some and get a feel for what prices were, etc.
    The did have a bunch of new Gibsons, including a Dove and a
    Hummingbird, but I was NOT impressed with the sound or the quality of
    these new instruments. I've heard or played quite a few Japanese
    guitars (the Yairi Alvarez Hummingbird copy, to name just one) that
    would beat these instruments hands-down for less money, and that
    doesn't even include the old American standbys, or an older
    Hummingbird.
    Of course, I could be wrong; maybe after a few years those Gibsons
    will mature and sound better, but it's gonna have to be a LOT better
    before they earn their purchase price, in my estimation.
    Just my $.02,
    Charlie

| 1898.6 | Acton Music | CRONIC::SHAYNA::PCUMMINGS | There's a mingus amonk us | Fri Aug 03 1990 16:28 | 8 |
| | Acton Music (RT 27) recently became a Gibson dealer and have some
    nice Les Pauls, SG's and ES335 models. Don't think Acton Music is
    generally considered cheap, but I've chewed them down on low price
    models.......

| 1898.7 |  | ICS::BUCKLEY | I Wanna Be Your Man! | Sat Aug 04 1990 11:45 | 4 |
| | I personally think Acton Music ctr is a waste of time....they charge
    MUCH too much money for their guitars (like close to list!) and their
    sales people aren't too nice IMHo. Better off going to Wurlitzer's or
    something.
