Does anyone out there own a Vox Phantom VI?....I need to do some
bridge work (the peg that holds the 'high E' has snapped)...and
that thin cover that says V O X on it (it covers that useless string
action/alignment mechanism) keeps falling off....What parts am I
missing?...where can I get them?...who, in the Boston area, will
service this guitar?......Do I have to go to the hardware store
and try "Mickey Mousing" the job myself?....someone plz HELP!..

If you cant find a store that carries the original parts for it,
I would suggest you look for a good machinist. Remove the bridge
and bring it to a machine shop. Replacing the pin can't be that
difficult for a machinist to do. As for the other problem, bring
the whole guitar along, and show him what this plate attaches to.
He may be able to retap it and/or replace the screws holding this
plate on. I wouldn't attemp to repair the bridge at home, unless you
have a real good drill press, and a replacment pin to use.
This bridge sounds similar to the old Bigsby Tailpieces. There
are six pins on the Bigsby bridge, and the ball end of the string
slides right over the pins.
