I agree. Let's get this thing going again! I am proud to say that I'm
still a drummer ( retired) but a drummer nevertheless. I know there are
still other drummers out there. So.....how about if we here from so of
    you?

Hello out there. About time some people showed up, what did happen
to all of the skin slappers? I have been playing for a very short time,
I actually used alot from this conference, when I was purchasing my
equipment. I have never had a rush like this(playing that is), and as
far as I'm concerned, this is one of the best things I have ever
done(playing that is). I am 90% self taught, and practicing as much as
I possible can. I have made up(with a couple of friends) about 13
tapes(just jamming). My band and I have come along way in such a short
time. My goals are to be part of a band, playing
jazzy/alternative/heavy, we currently have a bass player, me, 2
guitarist, and a turntable(wicky, wicky..). Unfortunatley I think we
will be separating due to other job opportunities, but it's not over
    until the drummer's done.

Playing the drums is a great rush! Especially when you do it in front
of an audience. Like you I'm 90% self taught and I don't regret for one
    minute taking up the skins.

BTW, the drums weren't my parents first choice. First came the french
horn(Yuck!) and then several years of piano lessons ( a little better
but not my cup of tea:)! 30 years later the drums are still one of the best
    decisions I ever made.

Yup me too. Thirty-years huh? Damn I can't wait to see what I'm
like in thirty years. I also would like to take piano lessons, I also
play the guitar(acoustic"big red"). The only thing better than playing
the drums is playing the drums in a sound proof room.

Hey, this ain't no newspaper. You want more content in here, you gotta
stop asking for it, and start WRITING it.

That's how notesfiles work. If there ain't enough happenin' in here,
it's because YOU ain't writing anything.

| | Don't forget the state of the company, and people devoting available
    resources to doing their job.

Pursuing careers, signing up for training, trying to make the next
job code level, you know the routine...

Secondly, there's newsgroups and the web. Why devote hours to
creating text that will only be visible inside Digital's firewall?

Twenty years ago it was fine, but with the web giving people access
to the world, this internal medium has become very limiting.

AND, Digital's notes product is proprietary, text based, and platform
specific. Can't add a .gif .jpg or .bmp (or any other file format) to
    a reply, only ascii text.

If this were Lotus Notes (watch the people cringe) ...
