    Help !
    
    My Son (13) has an AMIGA 500  with 1MB of some Sort of extra Memory
    
    I have some VHF/UHF-Equipment to receive 137 MHz and 1.7 GHz
    Weather Satellite Transmissions.
    
    The Satellite Equipmnet has RS 232 Output now and delivers the decoded
    Pixels with 19.200 Bd to the serial Interface.
    
    Soon we plugged the Amiga to the Receiver and found out that BASIC
    is not fast enough to cope with the incoming Data.
    
    I don't know much about AMIGA Internals so,
    what i understand is, that there has to be setup a little
    Data Structure to tell the Device what to do and where to put the
    Data.
    
    What we want to do is just read the SERIAL.DEVICE and push the
    Stuff into Memory.Later there is enough Time to handle the Rest
    in BASIC.
    
        Does someone have a Routine in Machine Language to serve the
        SERIAL_DEVICE (receiving only but approx 256 Kbyte/Image)

	Or, could someone describe how to talk to the DRIVER and let
    	him do the dirty Work?

    You might take a look at note 4970.6.  Looks like there is a
    hardware/software solution for recieving slow scan TV from satelites.

    You are indeed right, i think Paul Mcdonald is using this
    equipment.
    In my case, the Hardware is selfmade and i do not think that
    the commercial AVT Software is 
    					a) available
    					b) fits to my environment
    
    	
    Maybe i am allowed to stress the situation again. All we need
    is this little Routine to read one Byte from SER. and dump it
    into Memory. Repeat until the Satellite is gone away.

    Thanks for this info. This will most likely solve our Problem.
    Now i only have to become an .IFF knowledgeble Father and the
    Satellites can keep coming.
    If we finally make it, i'll try to upload a picture than.
