| | Yes, according to the documentation, you use the DOS Printer driver and
configure it to print to a disk file rather than the prionter.

I don't understand how that can work... I am not using WP, since I do not
have ready access to it, and the file is in WP revisable form, not output
form. I did not create the document, I got it through the mail!
Capturing printer output is not likely to do what I want, but I will try it
just to be sure!

| | You run WP, load in your file, then change your printer selection such that
you use the DOS driver and the output destination is a file. The resulting file
will be a ASCII type text file of your document.
I've tried this and it works OK - but you will lose some of the fancier
formatiing (like italics).

| | He wants to know if he can convert the file WITHOUT WordPerfect.
You might ask in the IBMPC notesfile. I wouldn't be surprised if there
was a PD program available there.
You might be able to find another word processor which can input a
wordperfect file. And then output from that program. Maybe wps on
VMS can do this?

Well, there is a way to "de-post_script" stuff on vaxes, if
thats what you mean I can look it up..... else I won't bother.

yes, please. Far too many functional specs seem to be done in
postscript these days. I want to convert them back to something
I can search with an editor and that won't take hours to print out.
Source code for this wonder would be even better.

    thanks,
