| 4813.1 | PS on Amiga or VMS ? | TRUCKS::BUSSINK_E |  k Wthg Hvl Bd$ | Tue Jun 11 1991 10:12 | 5 |
| | This might be a stupid question. But if you print your files on
    a LPS20 and LN03+, did you created the PS file on an Amiga or on VMS ?

    I've created the PS file on VMS.Do you think it would be different
    if I tried to create it on AMIGA?
    Do you have a similar problem Erik? I read your earlier note about
    IFF2PS, is it the same as CLAZ?
    Have you tried to create the PS file om AMIGA instead?

| | I created PS files with CLAZ on the VMS, and they were compressed, same
    with the IFF2PS on the amiga. They only change I've noticed with the
    IFF2PS v2.0 is that I get a error on the printer at the end. I will try
    tonight to make a PS file with CLAZ on the amiga.

    Any bookstore with a decent computer section should have the Adobe
    PostScript reference series:

    PostScript Language Reference Manual
    	[ "Red book" ]
    	ISBN 0-201-18127-4

    PostScript Language Program Design
    	[ "Green book" ]
    	ISBN 0-201-14396-8

    PostScript Language Tutorial and Cookbook
    	[ "Blue book" ]
    	ISBN 0-201-10179-3

    All published by Addison-Wesley.

    You might find some answers in the PostScript conference...

| 4813.5 | Why PostScript or LN03 ? | WELLIN::FINNIS |  | Wed Jun 12 1991 17:36 | 18 |
|  |
    Possibilities:-

    [1] Why not borrow a la50 or equivalent for a night and print it ?

    [2] Post the circuit and we can have a go

    [3] Or try csix and convert it to sixel on the vax and print it

	Only problem I have is if the background that the IFF was made in
    is dark, it makes the picture difficult to read ( CLAZ ) .
    So it gets imported into a paint package and modified.

    Hi again,

    I found the document CLAZ.DOC on TAPE""::AMIGA:[AMIGA.USENET.DOC]
    and in that document I found that you should supply the picture
    size of the IFF image.
    I tried that and I got a much better printout then.

	If I try to run CLAZ (VMS) on a HAM IFF file which was produced by
	GIF2IFF (again VMS) then after a few moments I get
	%SYSTEM-F-ACCVIO, access violation, reason mask=00, ...etc
