| 4806.1 | Pro Board,Pro Net | SALEM::LEIMBERGER |  | Tue Jun 11 1991 05:17 | 8 |
| | Their are two products on the shelp as System Eyes. They are(if my
    memory serves me right)Pro Net, and Pro Board. I think one does the
    schematic layout,and the other the net listings etc. I will look at
    them the next time I drop down there. These products have survived
    for awhile now so i assume they are mature. I haven't picked them up
    because I don't do board layout. I do work with net files here at
    DEC so I contemplated picking up Pro Net to see what it does.

    	Pro-board is a board layout package while Pro-net is a
    Schematic entry system. The Pro-net package creates files for
    Pro-board ( net list, parts ... ).
    	I have used the older versions, but I have not had a chance to
    check out the new, lower cost, combined version.

| 4806.4 | Could you expand on that ? | WELLIN::FINNIS |  | Wed Jun 12 1991 17:44 | 13 |
| | I take it then Board Master is not that popular..

    Re.. Pro-Board Pro-Net, How much memory does it eat, how long does an
    autoroute take .. ?

    How do you get the Netlist into your package used at DEC ?
    You don't mean ORTSchema surely....!

    >> The latest combined version ? What is the latest version number
    and do you mean combined as in both packages in the same box, or
    combined program ?

    re .4

    	Pro-Net doesn't auto route. It helps you route the traces by hand.

    I use BoardMaster. I like it. It does do auto routing. I don't know
    if it is popular or not, but look at what most folks buy that is
    "popular". Second, it is cheaper and has a better price performance
    than anything else I can think of in the PCB market.
