    	There's always The Memory Location in Wellesley. They even warrant
    that stuff you buy from them will work. I've returned stuff to them,
    stuff bought from their consignment shelf (used), and they've either
    shown me that it does work or given me my money back. Nothing as
    expensive as a 2000, though, so better ask. ;-)

    Also, Omnitek in Tewksbury on Rte 38 (508-851-4580) &
    Soft Designs in Belmont (617-489-4056).

I have purchased new and used hardware from System Eyes and have successfully 
negotiated the price to meet or beat the lowest price in the area - each and 
every time.  Steve has been helpful, knowledgable, and cheerfully performed all
warrantee work to my satisfaction.

Hang around a bit.  Make sure that Steve gets to know your face. Plan to do
followon business with him, he will deal.  
(I guess that this would be the case at any good dealer.)

    System Eyes actually checks out any system sold before it leaves the
    premises. In the case of say a a2000,and a GVP controller the drive is
    also installed,and tested. I imagine that this is (or should be) the
    practice of any dealer.
    	Regarding Mail Order, any Amiga that is purchased by mail order is
    being sold in the gray market,and this could cause problems with the
    new warrenty,and replacement policies that CBM has issued. You will
    notice all the better mail order places sell everything but the Amigas
    themselves. It appears that the New England area is a nice place to be 
    if you own an Amiga !

	I bought my A2000 from the Software hut, a mail order place 
that was running a heck of a deal at the time.  I have had no 
problems, so don't really know what their after sales service would be 
like.  The  "best place to buy"  if you don't mind used equipment,
might be directly from someone who is upgrading - they get a little 
more, you pay a little less, the dealers starve, etc (-:

I don't think that's quite the case. Some mail order houses (at least one)
ran real store fronts as well. They don't advertise the Amiga, but they
would sell them over the phone. They also had their own service facility
connected to the store front. Their prices were only marginally better
than the non-mail-order places nearby, though.

And Go Amigo (the place I used to visit) was bought by Creative Computers (or
something similar to that), and their new storefront is a bit far south to
visit from here.

       So that's where they went!!  They have advertised in Amiga World
       since issue 1 and then disappeared a couple of issues ago.  Most
       of the software I have bought in the past was ordered from them.
       The service was excellent!  Hope Creative Computers service is as
       good.

    	It is true that some Mail Order Dealers have storefronts. The
    reason they don't advertise is simply that they are not supposed to
    sell the Amiga through the mail. Now if you were to order one then
    I guess they could ship it to you(Educational deals are stricter).
    I am surprized that Amiga World still takes ads from  Mon*******
    G****. Here is a case of abuse if their ever was one. Regardless
    Of where you buy your amiga the bottom line is your going to come 
    out a winner.
