Does anyone out there use ATALK III with the VT100 emulation ? I use it
and what I see is the line drawing doesn't seem to work. I get various
letters instead of the horizontal and vertical lines. Reverse video
works and I know the double height/width is not supported. I'm running
it from my A590 on an A500 with 2 meg. I looked in the book for help
and it seems rather vague to me, plus I called Oxxi and whoever I
talked to didn't seem all that hip on the VT100 feature. Is there a
font setup or something I need to change ? I used the supplied HD
install procedure to build it onto the hard drive. There was something
about the G0/G1 escape sequence to enable the different roms, but it is
not clear how to get ATALK to understand it.

I was also wondering if anyone using ATALK III uses something other
than VT100 emulation to dial up VAX systems, and what problems thay
have, if any. Most of the systems I dial into seem to be VAXen, so I
    like the VT100 feature.

    Thanks for any responses....Ray

I've mentioned this somewhere else but I don't know where so here goes.

I think you're missing a font. Some versions of ATalk (maybe all) had
a bug in the HD installation procedure which didn't copy over the
entire subdirectory structure. If this is the case you can simply
copy them yourself (then re-boot or do a FIXFONT). For VT100 emulation
you only need the fonts whose names begin "VT100".

As for the other question, I've never tried any other emulation modes
dialing into DEC. I wish they did VT220 emulation, but don't, and
have no plans to do so.

If you finally get fed up with the fact that the Backspace key doesn't
work the way you'd like, send me some mail. I have a kludge which
    will fix it.

    Frank
