I just picked up JrComm V0.94d from Safe Harbor's BBS. There was no
docs except a readme file that said replace JrComm image with the one
    from the archive.

I tried it and it seems OK but the executable is about half the size of
the V0.94a executable that I have been using.

Does anyone know anything about this version? If it is safe I'll upload
it to TAPE (if anyone wants it - I usually use Smokey and VLT).

If it's half the size, chances are someone with a tight disk-space
budget "powerpacked" the executable. If your screen or mouse pointer
do some strange colorcycling after loading from disk, that's a sure
sign of a "packed" program. You may also want to check with the
PowerPacker 2.?? program on a not so old Fish disk and KV from the
VirusX distribution. BTW, my fellow brewer and active anti-viral
programmer Heiko Rath informed me that KV doesn't detect all viruses
it claims to recognise. And there's a new virus around (at least
here in Germany), a description will follow these days.

As far as the legal status is concerned, I believe that V0.94d is
still "public", unlike the V0.99 releases that popped up here and
    there.

    Regards,

| Ok. I didn't notice any color cycling but DMOUSE shuts my mouse off
after 5 seconds and JrComm always blanked the screen.

I see I forgot to mention the sizes 143000 bytes for V.94a and 77000
    for V.94d (these are approximate).

Thanks for the info. I'll check out PowerPacker.
