    After spending a long time looking through the notes unsuccessfully for
    a piece of information perhaps somebody could help me out.
    
    Some months ago a discussion was underway about adding a 1.2mb 5.25"
    disk to the Amiga.  Somebody pointed out that several PC type drives do
    not offer all of the necessary signals for the Amiga.
     
    I have aquired a TEAC FD-55GFR 1.2mb 5.25" drive and would like to use
    it.  I have a copy of the Take5 interface schematic.  I also have a CBM
    5.25" drive which I plan to hack for the new floppy drive.
    
    If somebody has the details about the drive option jumpers I would
    appreciate this information as well.

	A friend of mine uses this drive along with Take5 for quite a while now. In fact, I just called him (and woke him up). This drive does feature a diskchange signal, so you won't have to hack one yourself. He couldn't remember the pin or the jumper settings, so I will enter these when he calls me in the afternoon. Once again, HighDensity type floppy drives, ie. the 1.2MB or 1.44MB variety are NOT supported/operational on the Amiga. The Agnus, which does the MFM de/en/coding, wasn't build that way. You'll have to set the jumper on the TEAC to DD mode and get an 880KB 5.25" disk drive. Regards, <CB<

	Wayne, You'll have to put the Ready jumper ON, that is connect the two pins. At the closeby DC2 jumper you should be able to recieve the Diskchange signal. By default the drive should be in the DoubleDensity mode and not HD, so that should be it... Regards, <CB>

	Somebody might have found a way to get 1.2 MB 5.25 inch floppies. In the February issue of Amiga World page 20 there is an ad for the CSI 3300 Mega Drive for $249.00 that works off of the Amiga port or the bridge board. But it is not clear if if can reach 1.2 MB on the Amiga or just the bridge board or both. Alan

	Hello, I got hold of a Techway 8W340P (5.25" External Drive 1.2Mb/360KB self-powered) and want to use it as an 880K Amiga drive. I don't want/need to be able to read MS-DOS flops, just the Amiga ones! It comes with a 37 pin connector with the following signals: 1 +12v 2 non-contact 3 reduce write current 4 +5v 5 non-contact 6 index 7 motor on 3 8 drive select 4 9 drive select 3 10 motor on 4 11 direction 12 step 13 write data 14 write gate 15 track 0 16 write protect 17 read data 18 head select 19 disk change 20-37 ground Do I need the Take-5 interface, I've been reading about (if so, where can I find a .six or .ps version) or is there an easier solution.
