| SimGen allows you to put an iff picture on your workbench.It differs
from the other utilities in that you can see the background through
any windows you open.I think it pretty neat.You should give it a
try.

| I received some more pictures for use with SIMGEN. Some of them are
pretty good as a workbench background. If there is interest I will
upload them.

I'm interested, please upload. I've been using WBpic with Mac
pictures, seems to do a nice job on a 640x400 screen except for
one small nit - I use lacewb to flip from 640x200 to 640x400,
WBpic, works fine with everything until I try to do a lacewb
to flip back to 640x200, then its Guru time. I'll have to
try this Simgen.
Sure would be nice if CBM tossed in a official 2.0 way to add
a backdrop picture of up to n planes deep (where n is however many are
not used by the workbench display). Let me guess... it's in there?

p.s. any interest in 640x400 iff pics (b/w mac pics, colorized to
black/blue)? They can be used in 640x200 but you only get to see
the top half.

Not images, but you can pick from a bunch of patterns or create your own.
You can specify 2 patterns: 1 for the workbench window and one for all other
windows.

| I will upload them tonight. I cannot remember if SIMGEN is included
with the pictures. If it isn't I will include it with the docs.

| MS-Windows 3.0 lets you put a 16 color picture as well as pattern
around it for a backdrop. This is a supported feature of the
MS-Windows envirnment and is accessed thru their equivalent to
"Preferences".
That's why just having a pattern doesn't seem enough, especially
since programs like Simgen and WBPic prove its possible to have a
picture as a backdrop.
