1995.0. "External Floppy going bad" by CTAWBA::COLLUM () Wed Dec 14 1988 11:35
I've suddenly developed problems on my external drive (one of the
old ones, with no power passthru). I get frequent read/write errors
on the inside tracks, and when I format, get the same thing. I sent
it out to get alligned, but they said it was fine. In fact they
couldn't get it to fail on any machine they tried it on. I took
it down to the local store and tried myself, and it only fails on
my A1000. DF0: is fine. I've got a Starboard, but DF1: fails even
when the memory is disconnected. Any ideas on what could be wrong?

| Have you been able to try your A1000 with another external drive?
Just a shot in the dark, but perhaps it wouldn't hurt to check the
integrity of the drive cable connector pins...
Good luck.
