I just read somewhere (nauseating computing?) that there's a new
and improved version of Music Studio out. While I'm not unhappy
with MS (+), there are supposed to be some crocks that are fixed
in V2.
I no longer can find the blurb I saw, so I tried the phone numbers
in the front of the manual and they are no longer operational.
Does anyone out there in Netland have a correct number for Activision
so I can get all the details (including cost)?
Thanks,
BobW
(+) Some of the things in MS really tick me off, but not enough
to convince the spouse to buy DMCS (which is starting to be used
for songbooks) and then to convert or retype all the music I've
written using MS.

doesn't MS use IFF files (SMUS) for its output? If so, then it
can be loaded into DMCS, although DMCS gives a lot more power in
its own format of file.
Or could you develop a program to to the xlate??...anyway, Can you
give us more info on MS in general...

I use Deluxe Music with Synthia. It is a good combination. I was
partially formally trained in classical composition, but don't have
any MIDI instruments. So far I've put my old 10-minute sax quartet
and some flute duets and other stuff on there. It works about as
well as I expected. The musical staff on DMCS (which optionally
lights up the notes red as they play, and lights up keyboard keys
as it plays also optionally), can have treble, alto, tenor, or
bass clef per staff per measure, tempo and instrument per measure,
etc. Synthia is OK for making instruments with many different
techniques.
There is a huge guide to music Amiga programs in the current
Amiga World magazine. Read it. They undersold Synthia.
about 100 programs are reviewed.

Activision's # is 415/329-0500.
They say that they were hoping to have Music Studio V2 out already
for the Amiga, but its due STS (some-time-soon). They are sending
me a brochure describing the differences so I'll let you know what's
new when I get it.
Also, if I get some time, I'll post the things that I like about
MS and the things that bug me.
