| | The 23 pin connector is not used to connect the A500 to a TV set.
You must use a standard RCA cable from the monochrome composite
video output to your monitor or VCR.

The A500 does not provide a color composite signal.

C-Ltd is shipping a $50 gadget that converts the 23 pin RGB signals
to very high quality color composite.

| | Commodore is supposed to have an RF Modulator for the 500 according
    the "Test Flight" video tape.

I have my A1000 hooked to a TV thru an RCA cable from the color
composite jack to the video-in of a VCR. Works great.

I tried the same setup with the mono composite on the A2000 last
night... slightly better picture quality, but not enough better
to justify the lack of color.

| | re .1, .2: All new European TV sets have RGB (I assume that's what
.0 is asking). I don't remeber the pinout by heart, though...

re .0: Is your TV a relatively new one? Does it have a 21-pin SCART
connector in the back? If yes, you can easily make a cable; if not,
you need a bit more (see .2).

RE .3 Thanks for your answer.
I have on my TV a 21-pin Scart, but I don't know which pins
I must use on the 23-pin connector on AMIGA.
            I need of scheme !!

            Bye <---> Ciao

| | That's what I thought.

It's very simple - but I have all the info at home, and I won't
be back in the office before next Monday (and I think you want to
use your Amiga ASAP). If you can wait that long, I can give you
the info. Also, most good (European) Amiga dealers should stock
    an Amiga-SCART cable.

If you cannot wait, I'm sure someone here can give the pinout of
the Amiga 23-pin connector - and you should be able to find out
the SCART pinout from any TV dealer (or from the manual for your
    TV).
Or, ask Marco CESARE::Zabot in Torino - I'm sure he can help too.

| | yes, I can help.
1st. You can order it to DESME Amiga Club, (011) 592551. It costs
about 35-50 KLit. Tell them you're a Digital employee and ask for
the special discount. They will send it by mail and you should get
    it in few days.

    2nd. Do it yourself.
    This is the schema:

        ---------------------------
    ==> \ y g y  .  . . . x agr y | =====> x y are audio chnls.
    | \ . o bl br w r gy bk . .| agr is audio ground
    | -------------------------
    |the yellow are jumpered together.
the others go to the 23 female as follow:

     ------------------------------
     \ . . bl w bk . . . . y . . /
      \ . . . br r gy g o . . . /
       --------------------------

Pins are seen from the soldering side !
It will be hard to find the 23 pins connector. You can do it yourself
by sawing out two external pins of a regular 25 pins connector.

Good luck ... and enjoy a colorfull A500.
    ciao.
    marco
