Dallas Semiconductor makes a rom socket clock which has been advertised
as a no-slot clock (about $50.00). You pull a rom off your computer
motherboard and plug in the "Smart-socket", then plug the rom into the
top of the Smart-socket. There's a software technique to read and set
the battery backed up clock. I have one, but no instructions for Amiga
installation. Has anyone done this?
Thanks
John

Their reference to it as a "no-slot clock" seems to imply that it
is designed to be plugged directly onto an IBM PC or PC-compatible
mother board.

The INSIDER (1 meg expansion) I have seems to use the clock you
describe. The clock is installed on the 1 meg expansion, but
could also be anywhere else. You could try the software I have
to see if it will read/write to this clock, sounds like a standard
clock with a 10 year lithium battery inside the clock chip.
