subject: flight simulator
hi everyone
having seen the FS II available for the amiga and reading about what it can
do I didn't think twice and bought it.
however, it soon became evident that it is good for nothing.
while it's just possible to stay aloft visual it's got nothing
to do with controlling an aeroplane. flying on instruments is
simply impossible and that's what I wanted it for: to train
IFR procedures. on top of that VOR reception doesn't work properly,
the only ILS that you can tune in fails some 3 miles out, the
ADF isn't working at all etc.
I would very much like a working flight simulator but so far
was unable to finone running on the amiga.
if anyone out there could help me I would be very grateful.

Unfortunately, SubLogic's FS II is supposed to be the standard by
which others are judged. I too, was very disappointed with the
program, mainly because I thought the graphics were pitiful by Amiga
standards.
Sublogic has admitted that there are many bugs and unimplemented
features. For example, none of the radio modes work in the Bay
area. Sublogic has promised an upgrade, and they claim that they
released a buggy version simply because so many people wanted it.
(I waited over a year from the original announce date.)
Maybe if enough Amiga owners wrote and complained, they would do
an Amiga-specific version, rather than a quick and dirty ST-port
job. Although I suspect that they will probably do nothing, since
they sold all the copies that they could print.
