Where can I get list/suggestions for hotels in and around Paris?
Two couples - 1 with a 9-year old daugter - are looking for
somewhere near the centre that is comfortable but not toooooo
    expensive.

I have been told the best idea is to park the car and use the metro.

    All suggestions welcome

    Thanks,

    Ron Kerray

| Re . 0: Try calling (33) 1.49.52.53.54. This is the Paris tourist
office. They can answer in English and will have a number of hotel
suggestions in your price range. Just tell them what you're looking
    for.

I concur with the idea of leaving the car parked but if you have
more time available, I'd advise the bus rather than the metro, not for
security reasons, but simply because you'll be able to see the streets
around (or try those of the metro lines that are above ground). Anyway,
you might also ask suggestions about that to the people in the tourist
    office.
    		Hope this helps,
    			Denis.

| Just for ease of use: the Paris tourist office now has a web
    server:

    		http://www.paris.org/Accueil/

It has pages in French, English, German, Italian and Spanish.

| My wife and I stayed in the Hotel Pierre Nicole, rue Pierre Nicole
Paris 75005. The rooms were quite good for the price which was 385-400F
per night. It is in the 5th arrondisement and quite close to the Port
Royal RER station which is very easy to get to from Orly or Charles De
    Gaule.

    We were there last week.
