I received this announcement today.

I don't know how many of you know Paul "Beak" Wellspeak.  He's been mostly
a RON for a long time, but anyone who went to Giantsmania would know
him as one of the "Westfield Boys".

Beak is leaving after 13 years with DEC.  This is the annoucment about

		Da Party...

    We just had a layoff yesterday, 3 engineers cut out of 18.  Not a good
    day at all.  I survived, but my best friend got hit.  More to come, I'm
    sure.  Now, we've got a re-org meeting at 9 today, so I'll find out
    where I am and for whom I am working for.

	This is Beak from Bubba Mayhews account.  I appreciate the well wishes.
I'll especially miss notes.  My situation was not a layoff or selection, but my
own choice.  I got an offer that I could not refuse and is the best thing for my
career and family.  I'll miss DEC after 13 years, but who knows what the future
holds.  I hope to see some of you at sometime.
